right so i knew that cigarette smoke would hit hard from the moment the tracklist was unveiled because of 1) the title and 2) the fact it was the last track on the album but wow it genuinely went from worst to worster. the lyrics? oh i'm sick.

please oh my god just punch me in the gut next time. and that "why'd i try at all?" when it feels like you've been the one trying your best to make it work all along, only to be met with a wall... literally begging for the person to care... wanting them to tell you something that will make parting less bittersweet since the good times you spent together are what kept you hoping... no this is an evil song. i hate it here.

"i resent you for taking her side" works as both resenting someone for cheating AND resenting them for choosing to get with your past self 🥲🥲 why take your side, stand by your side if they weren't gonna keep up the energy?
