There was a time in my life when I was training to be a pro wrestler. I’d lay in bed at night, with the pain going through my whole body from trying to learn the correct way of throwing myself at the ground over and over again. I also had drama in my head from having heat with some of the boys. I’d lay in bed at night and read his book. It kept me going and smartened me up - reading about how he came into the business, how he grew up in the business, just his thoughts on life and how to be a good man. He was the veteran mentor that I never had. I just wanted to shake his hand and thank him for helping me achieve a dream. I’ll never be able to do that now. I can only hope he knew how much he was appreciated.
