Messmer’s design is truly mesmerizing (personal interpretation essay)

I have been analyzing Messmer´s design for a long while, and his design truly is "mesmerizing."

Beforehand, I want to mention that these are mere theories, interpretations, and connections I made.

(This is my first character analysis, so feel free to correct me and share your opinions in the comments!)

Messmer´s greaves

Messmer´s "greaves" are quite the sight to behold... (all seriousness aside, those are NOWHERE near greaves)

The shoes look like they took inspiration from Greek footwear; they kind of resemble ancient Greek sandals. They could be called "Buskin." It basically means half boot. 

They were worn by tragic actors; they sometimes appear as a symbol of tragedy. If we really look at it this way, the footwear was made for Messmer; it was a great, almost phenomenal design choice.

Shaman Village (Messmer´s devotion to his mother)

It is said that Messmer burned and damaged the Realm of Shadow during his purging crusade. He used his undying flame to purge the Hornsent people, leaving them and their lands in ashes. 

Shaman village is untouched, calm, and peaceful.

A big part of this village is covered with flowers of all kinds. It is a place of peace and lingering memories.

Floriography

Pink flowers

Pink usually represents gentleness and preciousness to a certain extent.

It may also represent femininity as a whole; they may also represent nurturing feelings.

I feel like femininity might be a great symbolism, if it even is one, in this case.

Femininity is associated with motherhood (NOT ALWAYS). Motherhood was what Marika went through.

It's widely known that pink is also associated with gratitude, a fulfilling feeling of thankfulness.

White flowers

White, as most of the time, represents purity. It is no surprise that flowers of such color would be in the Shaman village.

Yellow flowers

Almost all over the world, yellow is associated with hope. I do think that it’s beautiful, that most flowers in the shaman village are indeed yellow.

It is truly mesmerizing what Messmer managed not to destroy. It's a beautiful portrayal of devotion and love for his mother; perhaps he knew the village was precious to her.
