How to Have Sex (2023, UK/Greece/Belgium)
Director & Writer: Molly Manning Walker
Mini-review:
This movie sets out to capture a very specific moment in life, and it definitely manages to do it. In fact, it's such a great portrayal that pretty much anyone could relate to at least some of the situations shown. It's certainly not an easy watch, and I would very much recommend checking out trigger warnings beforehand. But still, it handles its themes and social issues with great sensitivity. On top of that, it's beautifully shot, which really helps you get immersed. And Mia McKenna-Bruce gives a starmaking performance; her acting is so nuanced, expressive and natural. So yeah, How to Have Sex is a brilliantly acted and directed movie that brings up important issues with as much daring as its title implies.

This is one of the most brutally accurate depictions of a girl's sexual-coming-of-age I've ever watched. As girls and women, we have been Tara or we have known Tara. This film is an uncompromising and important look at rape culture and what enables it. The sinister manipulations, the peer pressure, the feigned innocence, the "I'm just kidding"... Everyone should watch it!

A Small Rant About THE BRIDE!
(Gif not mine)
Disclaimer: spoilers
Okay I have THOUGHTS about THE BRIDE! and Iâm still kind of processing them.
Where Guillermo del Toroâs take on Frankenstein felt like a love letter to Mary Shelleyâs original novel, THE BRIDE! feels like someone completely ripped the Frankenstein mythos out of its original context and rebuilt it into something entirely new. The story being told is definitely not about the creature (Frank) and his bride. The focus from beginning to the bitter end is about the Bride and her identity, her autonomy, and what it means to be created without your consent and then forced to figure out who you are anyway.

Okay so Maggie Gyllenhalâs The Bride! Fucking rules and itâs about feminine rage and being fucked up and forgotten but not letting people ignore you and most importantly itâs about shooting cops
No wonder it got bad reviews RIP
