Do you think Daniel is really meant to be the one who gives Armand the love he needs? The one who is able to cradle Armand. Not because I don't want that, but because they've changed his character so much, or, rather, developed his character in a bad way.
I still think that's what we're leading into, yeah. Because whilst they've gone and turned the asshole dial on Daniel up to a million, I still think we need to go back and remember that Daniel's behaviour during the few times we saw him with Armand was very different to his hate boner behaviour with the others.
He still has those heart eyes when he tells Louis he feels Armand. He still looks emotionally tormented and like he's seconds from folding in the park. He still wants Armand to prove he loves him, which I can only put down to him having feelings of his own, even if they are currently confusing him. He still looks hurt on Armand's behalf at the concert and now enraged at the bowling alley over the Big Boss song.
So while at the moment we're all looking at Daniel and going, "Really? That's the guy who's gonna cradle Armand with his love?" I'm like... maybe that's what will make it special? That Daniel fucking hates everyone except him.
I honestly will never understand why people think Daniel is so mean and hateful. Is it because of the ex-wife and daughters? Because he’s a white boomer? The fact that he can be abrasive and cynical? Well, a cynic is just a wounded romantic. It makes me sad that people can’t ever see past his snarky exterior. He actually seems like a sensitive man in some of his scenes with Armand this season. He will no doubt do an honorable job of cradling Armand with his love.
