Guys WTF this is the 2nd ai message I got today. Why is ai trying to get me to agree to shit????
The new trailer was terrible.
It looked like a film made for children and people who never grew up.
Regrettably it appears the era of films for people with a functioning frontal cortex that Snyder and Nolan gave us is dead comic book films...and it appears to be dying everywhere else as well.
"It looked like a film made for children and people who never grew up."
Yes. That is exactly why I loved it.
MoS is one of my favorite movies ever, but the world right now, needs a different side of Supes. I am looking forward for the hope and wonder the big blue can bring.
"but the world right now, needs a different side of Supes. "
So your argument is because we're in a dark place we need to embrace and unthinking mentality that sees things only in black and white...which I do believe is the very mentality that allows the vile fascists we're having to deal with rise to power.
Look people can have their brain candy, we all need it from time to time. But it is never an argument that when things are bad we should turn off our brain. Darkness in the world requires serious responses not child like escapism.
And yeah I realize that all of this would be putting way too much on a couple of films, but my point in referencing how there is falling away of intellect in all genres is that this film is just a symptom of a larger trend.
Hope is not a childish thing that just looks at the world as a simple thing. Hope is being able to look at the full complexity of the world in all of its darkness and still seeing a way out. And the kind of "art" the Gunn and fellow directors push does not in any way encourage that kind of adult response.
Who says having childlike wonder is to turn off the brain? Have you seen ANY classic childrens films?
Do not insult family movies that way.
The art of balancing a movie for all audiences has been lost, that is why Hollywood is dying. Movies for all audiences are one of the hardests pieces of media to make because you have to keep it light, but thoughtful. Be smart and funny, but with a hint of darkness, show kindness and fear in a way it's digestable for all. That is why we don't have a classkc Jurassic Park anymore, the Star Wars prequels, the true disney classics. They were smart and good family movies.
Kids are not idiots, kids deserve heroes and good movies as much as any person. Superman has always been that hero, I'm glad to see him in this light again.
"Who says having childlike wonder is to turn off the brain?" Neuroscience. It's a big word I'm sure you're not familiar with it.
"Have you seen ANY classic childrens films?" Yes, all the time. There are times that I need to shut by brain off to allow my subconscious to work on a problem and I will turn on films that do not require higher intellect. But guess what I have more than enough of those. What I don't have is movies that deal with serious and thoughtful moments of philosophy, ethics, and human nature. I did get a complete story with the Nolan Dark Knight Trilogy, but idiots whining prevented me from getting an end to the smarter Snyder films. (And I do know a lot of "Snyder bros" just look at his visuals and miss that his works have a consistent and deep look at politics and classical philosophy, please don't lump me in with those).
But I have and still sometime watch those children's films. Emperor's New Groove is a particular favorite. But I understand they have they time and place and should not be main course of my brain's diet of visual media.
"The art of balancing a movie for all audiences has been lost," Fair, but what has also been lost is movies that appeal to anything but the lowest common denominator. And I will bitch about the fact that there are practically no adult films being made anymore until it has some effect.
"That is why we don't have a classkc Jurassic Park anymore, the Star Wars prequels, the true disney classics" Did you really put up Jurassic Park and Star Wars as the pinnacle of film making? I mean Jurassic Park is okay, but it completely guts the depth of its source material...if you were going to go for Spielberg that was fun but also intelligent pick Minority Report. And while I hear Andor is actually decent (haven't gotten around to watching it) but Star Wars has and always will be for children.
"Kids are not idiots, kids deserve heroes and good movies as much as any person. Superman has always been that hero," You say kids are not idiots...and then you advocate for them being fed the dumb blue boyscout version of the character. You're right kids are not idiots. They can handle Westley saying "Life is pain, anyone who says otherwise is selling something" they can handle Carl dealing with Ellie's death, they understand the evil of Syndrome saying "because if everyone is special, then no one is."
What kid's don't need is a piss poor cut out of a cartoon their parents can't grow up past.
You do realize that you are judging a movie out of a 2 minute teaser with less than 10 words?
I will not argue if you hate it or think it's dumb once it's out, but you are calling a movie dumb just because you don't like how the pictures look so, you do sound overly biased. We do agree colorful kids movies can be deep, so maybe we can wait and see whats up đ¤ˇđťââď¸
Also, I have seen that this one will be a direct critique to capitalism and manufactured heroes, that is why they have that "uniform" look, so maybe give it a chance to show you what the story really is about.

Zack Snyders new adult animation netflix show, Twilight of the Gods is so fucking amazing. I adore it so much, and watched the whole show in one sitting and might do so again either tonight or tomorrow. But it's so fucking good and I wanna talk with people about it
(I love Ulfr so much, nothing can make me hate a werewolf/ulfhednar, not even if he is maybe possibly a cannibal)

Jake, tired and sad because he has a 3 year mission away from the daggers, finally has time to check his messages.
Tasha: Get back soon, you left a moping lump for me to take care off.
Javy: Stay out of trouble babes, love you!
Roo: Sneaked a little something to keep you company while you're away, just imagine that's me when you're feeling lonely ;)
Feeling heated just by thinking of the kind of toys his boyfriend loved to use on him, Jake quickly looked through his things only to find...
Please someone make an Actor/Camera man AU with out idots! They would be perfect!
Yess!!! Bradley focuses on Gooseâs photography as a way to honor him- gets a big break and meets Jake.
Or IceMav are movie stars so Bradley is not even a little impressed with this little diva named Jake Seresin đ
Jake doesnât understand it until Mav shows up to bring him lunch one day đ
Jake is the new host of the most popular night show, a broadway star turned host that's bringing in the masses.
Bradley is the new director of photography, his first show as head of cameras and will not let that pink wearing diva get in the way of becoming a great TV director just like his father.
This just appeared in my feed...hahaha I'll totally do this AU nex!
heartstopper's imogen heaney vs 9-1-1's evan buckley an ally, you say....mmhmm sure, sure....

No one reblogs on tumblr anymore.
No one leaves comments on Ao3 anymore.
Seriously people the lack of fandom interaction these days makes me genuinely depressed, it never used to be like this, makes me wonder what's the point of coming online to do anything anymore.
Reblog a post so other people can see it.
Leave a comment so the author doesn't feel like giving up.
Fandom cannot live on Likes or Kudos alone.
You donât have to interact with every piece of fanwork that you come across, but you do have to interact with fanwork. Thatâs how it works. Fanwork is not âfree dlcâ for your favorite media, and it isnât meant to be passively consumed. Art is communication and fandom is a conversation. Join in! Join in!
It wasn't so long ago that I saw enthusiastic readers organize writing fests, or art prompt events and make extensive rec lists of fics, or resources or meta posts, actively shaping the environment of their fandom. Readers who found an active place in a community and got so much satisfaction from that.
Now the main load falls to those who are creators. Make the thing, promote the thing, get it out to people, then read the stuff of your friends, look around for more and find new artists and writers while working on your next wip, have an offline life and feel bad about not being able to keep up with the series of your friends because, damn, you know they have been kinda down about feeling irrelevant and ignored.
Fandom as a concept and form of community holds so many possibilities and chances because it's full of people creating for creations sake, out of love for something and not for cold profits.
Do you actually understand how special that is?
Creating in a community like that doesn't have to come in the form of fics or art but can also be the creation of events and fandom structures, of inspiration and motivation and... everything you fucking want.
I want to add because this isn't an element that I ever see on these posts: you may have to train/retrain your brain to enjoy and value these types of interactions, and it might feel a little bit like work to do so. Our brains are becoming so trained on quick hits and content that 'expires.' We're also increasingly on an internet that elevates just flat out being mean, which makes interacting scary even though fandom spaces (while not without drama) are generally inviting, esp for those surface level interactions like comments/reblogs. Commenting and interacting with things is supposed to be fun and joyful and community-building, but it might not FEEL like it at first if you aren't used to it or have gotten out of the habit. It might feel tiring or even a little scary. All that to say, you might have to make it a point to comment more and to build those muscles and prove to your brain that it's actually not so bad and is, in fact, kinda nice. You might have to build up to it. "I'll comment on 1/10 fics I read, even if it's just 10 whole characters of a comment." And then you can up the number of comments and experiment with the types of commenting you like to do, until it feels more normal and natural. Until you know you are the type to yell incoherently or the type to comment a string of emoji or the type to leave whole analysis essays using floaty review box. (Maybe you're all depending on the day.) There will still be times you don't feel like it and that's okay. There's times I don't feel like it and I'm an author. There isn't a quota or a requirement. Just joy to be spread and to be had.
I had a friend once tell me that she never commented on fics because she didn't want to be annoying and didn't think the author would care about her opinion. Please don't ever think you're being annoying by leaving a comment for an author because 99.9999% of the time you're probably making their day.
remember during the pandemic when we all used zoom for school or work and you would see a sea of black squares? publishing on a03 feels A LOT like that. because you click upload and shut off the computer and it's just you...until somebody comments.
comment when you can! even if it's â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸, or "simple but great", which are legit comments I received and still think about months later in addition to the four paragraph analysis of my character that covered things I thought about but didn't write into the story and my reader still figured out (talking about you @fris-art)
if commenting feels onerous and you're already doing your best by reading and being present, that's okay too. just remember that if you comment on just one story and another reader comments on another, that's two authors who got engaged and feel persuaded to write more. there are a few readers in my fandom that do this, jisung_apologist and jiangcheng's mom, feludaa, felicitymars come to mind but there are more. & it makes such a difference in keeping the momentum alive when i look at fandom as an ecosystem.
so do one teeny comment one a single story or piece of art or snippet on tumblr and know you've made a creator feel appreciated
