I think Part of what Noelle Said is Just deflection of her wanting to stay grounded + some Low self esteem that her crush would never notice her, and she doesn't want to admit that to her crush.

But still, I think it is interesting that she might view Susie that way. Especially because she's Susie's only advocate in Chapter 1, but at the same time it does lign Up with Noelle especially admiring Susie's scary and mean qualities. I kinda really Hope they do a bit more with that, like maybe even her liking Susie because she thinks she doesn't care, and Noelle wishes she could also be a bit more uncaring, and how she would react to Susie being different to this Image she Imagined. (Like it won't happen the way I would find it interesting, because we also got a glimpse of it in Chapter 4, but I, personally would find such an angle really interesting to explore)

Even the weird route- It's a second route, a second choice. You're meant to play the game proper, hang out with your friends and have happy times, and THEN Noelle becomes the focus, just so she's abused. But hey, at least you're paying attention to her now, right?
