Prompt: Imagine your muscles are sponges full of water that you have to tense and twist in all directions to wring out. As you squeeze out the water, allow your movement to grow lighter and move in a way that is recuperative for you.

Prompt: Imagine your spine is a snake and explore movements leading from your head and movements leading from your tail. Let your limbs go along for the ride and support your movement as needed.

Prompt: Begin with your eyes closed. Allow images to appear in your mind. Describe the image or a story related to the image in gestural movement, then use your full body to move through space and tell the story/describe the image again.
Length: End once you have finished both iterations of the story/image.

Prompt: Dance with an object or piece of furniture of your choosing. Experiment with pouring your weight into it so that it supports parts or all of you. Experiment with supporting its weight. See what different types of relationships you can have with the object (touch, gaze, awareness, sliding touch, weight share)
Length: Move until moving with the object feels very familiar. End once you sense you have found an ending.

Prompt: Improvise as if your movement is a drawing and you can't pick your pen up off of the paper.
Length: Move until you have to "pick your pen up" - however you define that for yourself.

Prompt: Imagine a ball rolling around inside your head. Decide on the weight, size, and color of the ball. Use your movement to move the ball throughout your limbs and torso. Allow the weight, size, and color of the ball to change and see how that affects your movement.

Prompt: Did you learn any new skills this year? If it’s a movement-based skill, take this chance to explore/show it off. If not, use the skill as inspiration. If you can’t think of anything, just use the phrase “try something new” to inspire your movement.
Length: Use a timer - 2:30. Or move for an amount of time that is appropriate for whatever the skill is.
