Kaidou Shun was bored. Heâd been doing work for his cram classes for hours and if he had to look at one more math problem he might just throw himself into the hands of Dark Reunion to end his misery. Maybe if he told his mom he was going to âstudyâ with at a friendâs house heâd be able to escape?
By some miracle, his plan worked. With his bag of notebooks and pencils that he did not plan on using today, he happily walked the familiar path to Saikiâs house. His introverted friend usually didnât have any plans unless he was dragged into doing something, so he was probably free! Kaidou wasnât sure exactly what he wanted to do yet, but he could figure that out when he got to Saikiâs house. Maybe they could go search for a good base of operations against Dark Reunion! That would be epic.
When he finally rang the door bell at the Saiki residence Saiki Kurumi opened the door. âOh! Itâs one of Kuâs friends! Let me call him down for you.â She smiled at him and he smiled a little sheepishly back. He was so excited to get out of the house he didnât really think about the fact he was dropping by unexpectedly.
âThank you mam. Iâm sorry I didnât call ahead.â As brash and confident as Kaidou tried to act in front of his friends, he always tried to be a little more polite in front of adults. âOh nonsense! Weâre always happy to have Kuâs friends over.â
Then, a little suddenly, Saiki came running down the stairs into view. âAh, there he is! Your friend came by to see you!â His mother turned to smile sweetly at her son.
Kaidou waved at the pink haired boy. âHey Saiki! You wanna hang out for a while? We should go do something!â
Leaving now was the absolute last thing Saiki wanted to do. The sweets. The sweets. He would miss the precious sweets if he went off somewhere with Kaidou. He didnât have time for this. Â
Just go back home. Itâs probably safer there. Because at least if he was at home, he probably wasnât at some point in the near future going to fall from... something. Saiki had seen him falling into a white void, but that wasnât really the case. The vision just wasnât being clear on what he was falling from or where it was happening.Â
âWhy are you waiting for? Go have fun with your friend!â Venom laced itself into his motherâs sing-song voice as she gave him a gentle push out the door, giving him no choice in the matter. That was the danger in her answering the door. She would never let him avoid people like he wanted to. The moment sheâd answered there was already no way out of this.Â
And just like that, there went the potentially perfect afternoon.Â
Resigned, Saiki once again turned his attention to Kaidou. He had no choice but to follow along with the otherâs plans for a while. At least along the way, he could probably manage keep Kaidou away from any high places.Â
