Yesterday it was 36°C here, today it was 10°C colder and windy and rainy. It's absolutely heavenly and I can finally function again.

A few years ago, your mother married a powerful Fae as part of a deal to heal your grandma's prion disease.

Now you have a Fae step-father and two older Fae step-brothers.

Of course there's downsides:

You and your mum constantly have to stop them from casting horrific curses on anyone, who looks at you funny; you have to handle any iron items your new dad and brothers can't touch ... and they don't seem to want to tell you what their real names are.

Overall, they're cool though:

you can have almost anything you want, your brothers hilariously turned your bullies into trees the other day and your step-father is trying to convince your mother to let you have a supernatural pet.

Well, I sincerely hope, that my laptops (or at least one of them) last, until either a better version of Windows than Windows 11 comes along (still on Windows 10, no intention of changing that), or I have enough savings for a new laptop.

I've been having joint pains for a while now. During Monday it was okay, so I could go to therapy, but in the late evening it got worse again. It's now Tuesday morning and I've been in terrible pain all night and morning. It hurts to move my elbows and knees. Sitting up, sitting down, standing and walking is fucking torture. I never thought a walk to the toilet could be so painful and I had stomach complaints last night, so I couldn't sleep.

Normally I spend Christmas and New Year visiting my mother, who lives in another town. I only see her a few times a year, because I can't afford to travel more than twice a year, so this is a special occasion, not just because it's Christmas. We just have quiet time, visit grandma and I spend New Year's Eve there, because it's much quieter than Berlin.

But this year she's visiting her new boyfriend in West Germany, so I stayed home.
