There's definitely benefits to having a smart phone (I can take pictures, edit pictures, take videos, edit videos, write on my Google docs, download near infinite pictures of Tyler Joseph as drawing references, write in Samsung notes and communicate with my friends in four different ways) but its also a cursed object and a waste of time and DONT EVEN get me started on the ai push and planned obseletion and all the other junk yknow

I want the ability to live my life without a smartphone and function in society, if I so choose.

I want other people to be able to live their lives and function in society.

Whether they're under 13, 90, or anywhere in between.

I feel like some things do change for the better with the advent of new technology, but at a point convenience cannot advance any further without you also sacrificing your autonomy and privacy and heck, analog enjoyment.

Like, yeah, it sure would be convenient to have all my cards, books, movies, ect. on my phone.

2 guys (gender neutral) who are really really weird about each other.

with an ambiguous but intensely close relationship. absolutely devoted to each other. sometimes codependent, rarely one seen without the other

have such a weird thing going on that people on the outside are like 'this is not normal' but to the 2 people in the situation it's the only thing that makes sense it's probably the sanest option given the circumstances

it’s non-romantic in the text. this is important. they love each other. and romance might even be ambiguous or implied or one-sided, but these people are not bfs/gfs. most times an in-text romance will ruin my investment, though in some cases it probably could be done if done carefully

there is some degree of exclusivity. it's often not a 'those two guys' if they have varied healthy close friendships with other people

AU where Clancy was the winner of the hunger games and is now, you guessed it, making capitol propaganda.

But I do have some issues

My main concern is I... dislike hunger games? Explanation under the cut. It's pretty rambly so be warned. (Spoiler free)

Clancy, winner of the (insert number)th hunger games is a musician. He came from the agricultural district, and frankly nobody was expecting him to win, but he did.

Trapped in the capitol, he is forced to make propaganda, and must outsmart President Nico if he ever wants to see his friends /family /whatever again.

(Before the hunger game)

Josh wasn't planning to participate in the hunger games. But then again, nobody is. But with one last year before he would be too old for the hunger games, he was looking towards the future. Instead, he's stuck in an arena with 23 other kids, fighting to the death. And he's somehow ended up partners with the underdog, Clancy.

Anyway that's all the plot I'm gonna share here and now :')

Notes:

1. if you saw the post about Clancy getting stabbed that's completely unrelated (although I can't promise he won't get stabbed I'm not actively planning on it)

2. I'm definitely planning on finishing (or mostly finishing) my other projects before I post anything else related to this (unless I get questions/suggestions ofc)

4. Lowkey don't like fanfiction with their real names?? It kinda gives me the ick but also. Lore. And it just I think would make it more readable so I'm not sure anymore. My sister suggested I name them 'Tylish Fancy' and 'Jish Fren' or their names backwards (Dun Josh and Joseph Tyler)
