I want to put it out there, I am spending the next 12 months putting my hard work to the test and will be shooting to compete in fitness model and transformation categories in 2020. I have set the bar high and also@surrounded myself with the best #fitfam I could dream of. I’ve decided it’s time to put my big goals on paper so to speak. I will be pushing myself for the next 12 months towards competing on stage in fitness model and transformation categories. I have had this determination to push and grind and decided I needed a focal point to shoot for. I’ve set my bar high and have surrounded myself with the most motivating and loving fitfam I can. Today I borrowed a medal from a fit friend @mystermayhem so I could literally see the vision I am striving for. My amazing swolemate @the_bombshell_boss put the seed in my mind to shoot for stage and I’m grateful every day she did and that she is a driving force in my motivation. I’m excited I’ll be working with @big_papa_mac starting next week to also give myself the best chance of going all the way and know he will push me beyond my limits. #flashbackfriday for me is a big one. The photo on the left was when my little lady was 1 and my boy turned 5 that day. It was also the photo that changed everything. I hated that face. So much. There’s no joy or delight there. I see tired, forced, self neglect. It’s taken years of on and off fitness and self evolution to turn this around and find the face on the right. I found a spark that brought out the fire that’s always been there but needed more fuel. That left photo has been my fuel. I have some very big goals for the next 12 months and today I’m locking in more support and some extra fuel to push myself to success with my journey and plans. The only thing in my way, is me. Did you know I get anxiety? Or that I feel everyone can see my shortcomings? Did you know I see a different person when I look in the mirror? How about my crushing fear I will let everyone down. I get cold sweats and hot flashes in the same minute some days. I wake up and cry worrying about what ifs. Not even real issues, things that might happen maybe. There is so much more to people than meets the Instagram. It is a real scary truth that my house is a mess, I yell at my kids, I love and hate my job, my laundry is piling up, my dishes are screaming at me from the other room, and I am in the bath ignoring it all. Once in a while I find myself crawling into a quiet place and need to really force myself out. Out to do groceries, out to the gym, out to see friends. If you need to hear that you’re not alone, here it is. You are so not alone. Each person you see is fighting a silent battle in the background. Some more than others. Don’t be afraid to go to that dark place, just remember not to live there. It’s examination, acceptance and moving forward is how you make it back out. Be kind, to yourself and others. I was motivated to post this “reality” by someone I admire and respect, who shared their own honest post today and I’m grateful he did. It gave me the warmth to share my own fears and spread the message to others that were all in this together. Woke up with some purpose today. I took my vitamins, pulled my hair back, and hustled up to the gym.
