Without music, life would be a mistake.

Art is not just entertainment. Art is something terribly essential, terribly important. It communicates to you something eternal, and when it doesn’t, then it’s entertainment.

When I make music it is so heavenly. I am in love with music. Actually when I play music, I make love - it is the same thing.

I maintain music is not here to make us forget about life. It's also here to teach us about life: the fact that everything starts and ends, the fact that every sound is in danger of disappearing, the fact that everything is connected - the fact that we live and we die.

Every work of art has two faces, one toward its own time and one toward the future, toward eternity
