I think of this #necklace as an #amulet and wear it around my neck as a ward. At the same time it is a #memory necklace for me because everything on it has a #story and is a visual remembrance. As I go through life I add to it; each item is something I feel connected to. · The stone axe-head keeps me connected to my “brother” · The lock is to remind me that there is a key, and no matter what problem is going on in life you can get out of it somehow · The #soapstone figure is from a close friend · The Zimbabwean #turquoise pieces keep me connected to my homeland · The #ammonite was given to me by another close friend · The acorn-shaped #charm is from #India · The coins bring back #childhood memories on the farm in #Zimbabwe. When I wear this necklace I feel like I am making a statement about who I am, I am sharing a part of myself with the world. It is me saying “Look, I am many things”.
