Even though they're dating Lucas still likes to use cheesy pick-up lines on Max and she loves to rate them on a scale of 1-10. 1 being the ones she absolutely despises and 10 being the ones that would have worked on her if they weren't already dating.

How much of Lucas’s “I’m tired of girls laughing at us”/“we don’t have to be losers” do we think is coming from insecurity over the breakup with Max?? like it seems like she’s worked hard to deny anything being wrong with her, and she’s quick to hurl that “oh I dumped you so something MUST be wrong with me” line, it obviously wasn’t a mutual decision to end things… like she must have framed it in some way to get Lucas “I always win her back” Sinclair to actually “give up” (even if he is just trying to give her space/respecting her boundaries)… it just makes me wonder if maybe he’s internalized it a little as not being good enough/cool enough for her (since in s2 she’s like THE cool girl in his eyes)… obviously this isn’t her fault at all but. It is sad to think about :(

The s4 scene of Lucas casually holding a pinecone while talking to Max has done nothing but live rent-free in my mind since I saw it and led to me coming to the conclusion that this is just 100% normal for him. Lucas is the guy who enjoys finding cool rocks, colorful leaves, and pretty flowers. At any given moment, his pockets have been known to include a handful of random acorns, rocks, and broken leaves. It’s a habit he picked up when he was a small kid and hasn’t totally kicked yet. As a result of this little habit and Lucas’ tendency to do for others, Max absolutely has an old shoebox under her bed filled with things he’s brought her over the years; pretty flowers and leaves she pressed and dried, shiny pebbles, cool rocks. She’ll deny any of it’s there and compares these antics to having a lovable dog that brings home gifts but secretly finds it very endearing. There’s even a big, smooth rock taking up residency on her dresser that was affectionately named Sylvester the Stone — Lucas voted Rocky and was immediately vetoed for lack of creativity — that had a face very carefully drawn on by a determined Lucas.

Lucas 100% kept all the notes in a shoe box in his room and whenever he’s feeling sad or just misses Max, he rereads them to cheer himself up.

i love talking about how lucas just wants to be in max’s life in whatever way she decides because he’s happy just being by her side. but what about max? my little red may not voice it much but lucas is her safe and happy place. rooftop scene on the bus? she felt safe and trusted him enough to open up to him. snowball dancel? a time when i was happiest. happy memories that gave her the strength to beat vecna? the majority of them were with lucas. creel house scenes? i’m glad you’re here. because as messed up as this supernatural crap is, there’s no one else she’d rather have by her side.
