hello not sorry to make another post about the antiblack harassment in the fandom. im sick of putting up with it and while I appreciate every person who supports me in the midst of a neverending harassment camp, i wish that more people (particularly nonblack folk) would try to make efforts to actively combat racism in the fandom.
i wrote a personally reflective thread on it and I would like yall to read it and maybe reblog it especially if you've been witness to the harassment of myself and other black fans and creatives in the fandom.
i get that seeing posts like this repeatedly is probably draining and annoying but if you have ever experienced even a lick of the vile behavior in this fandom, i would hope you can understand that this is not something that is easy to bear over multiple years.
sorry if this is annoying to my followers who are just following me to see art and not the constant backlash i have to endure. i wouldn't have to be so annoying and loud if i didn't feel so fucking alone!
if the racism in the fandom is a problem to you, if the hostile energy that constantly runs black creators and fans out of the space bothers you, yall have got to do more than just sympathize.

if i am accused of transphobia (and biphobia)––especially when 1. its accompanied by a wish for me (and anyone else who fell under their demographic of choice) to die 2. the fuss is about lestat being drawn fat/beefy/muscular or with otherwise "hypermasculine" traits in lieu of "gnc features" Whatever the Fuck That Means! 3. they unironically grouped "lestat haters" with transphobia and biphobia––i, a trans person, am allowed to question it and whether or not it was raised in good faith. (it wasnt.)

i headcanon lestat as amab nonbinary/genderqueer. (this post is old and the headcanons have slightly evolved, but MY base hc for lestat's gender identity is still the same.) by default, all of MY depictions of the characters are of MY headcanons from MY fanon regardless of whether or not its obvious to YOU.
MY headcanons are dear to me because they are drawn from facets of MY life as a queer black person. And Yes MY Identity As A Black Person Is Fundamentally Tied With MY Identity As A Trans Person. i am openly queer irl, have been for nearly a decade, and will Continue to be for the rest of my life. when you attack my queerness you attack my blackness as well. EYE dont get to separate my blackness from my queerness when it comes to MY lived experience and im not gonna watch as yall try to do it to me. i will remind you at every turn.
anyway, i dont care to give the benefit of the doubt when someone is openly wishing death on me and others, regardless of how indirect or coy they want to be about it after being confronted. im not playing these games. their beef is with me.
the reason im being called transphobic is because people >>>assumed<<<< that that "caricature" (aka an illustration with my character design for the fictional vampire lestat de lioncourt) was depicting lestat as a trans woman.
(insert the screenshot of someone saying "no cis man is referring to himself with feminine pronouns" and i think they said cis men dont do drag either? which. like. ????? how can you have the gall to eat up trixie and katyas iwtv reaction video and then turn around and hold/agree with a sentiment that completely invalidates their identities as drag queens??? 😭)
but its not [depicting lestat as a trans woman.] it is depicting a genderqueer lestat in drag in a self-indulgent costume of my choice. this isnt up for debate.
if you want to continue to assert otherwise then that is not a reflection of me but a reflection of how YOU view not only trans women, but gender nonconformity in tme people
