synopsis : After a perfect date night, an impulsive question from Liam turns a cozy evening into the start of the next chapter of your lives together.

𝑀𝑦 𝑟𝑒𝑞𝑢𝑒𝑠𝑡𝑠 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑐𝑢𝑟𝑟𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑙𝑦 𝑜𝑝𝑒𝑛!!
The lights from the city blurred into streaks of gold outside of the car window as Liam drove you two home. He had one hand resting lazily on the steering wheel and his other hand stayed on your upper thigh.
It was one of those nights where you never wanted it to end.
Your planned dinner somehow turned into getting dessert at a little cozy café, dessert turned into a very long walk through the quiet streets and somehow that got turned into a fun challenge to see who could spot the most ridiculous-looking dog before returning to the car.
You had won the challenge, mostly because he had laughed so hard after seeing the smallest pomeranian in a giant yellow raincoat that he completely forgot to keep looking.
"I still think that was cheating," he quietly muttered, squeezing your hand softly.
"You were the one laughing." you said defensively, slightly laughing at his words.
"It even had boots." He loudly laughed out, shaking his head at the memory of the adorable pup.
"It was so cutee." He finally let out a little laugh as he continued, "It looked like me after media day."
You snorted, "You admit it?"
"...Maybe."
The following comfortable silence was one he had come to treasure over the last few months of dating you. He realized how dating you, had been surprising very easy. It wasn't because relationships were effortless, but because you had made everything feel lighter.
After every exhausting qualifying, travel week and long interview, coming back home to you always felt like he was finally home.
When he had finally pulled into the driveway of his apartment complex, he slowly glanced at the time, "...It's really late."
You glanced over when you heard his voice, "I should be heading then..."
"No." His reply came almost immediately. The response made you blink, confused, "No?"
He was already climbing out of the car. " I would have drove you home, stay over, please?"
"Liam—" you tried to protest but looking over to him again, you noticed the desperation on his expression, "okay, I'll stay the night..."
Your laughter quickly followed as he hurried around the front of the car and dramatically opened the car door for you, "My passenger princess duties continue."
"I am perfectly capable of opening my own door." You told him, but the smile never left your lips
"I know." he said proudly and held out his hand for you, "But I like doing it."
Rolling your eyes fondly, you took it.
His apartment was quiet. There was only a soft hum of the fridge and the distant traffic that filled the space.
As you entered you immediately kicked off your uncomfortable shoes while Liam pulled off his jacket.
And without saying a single word, you felt him wrap both of his arms around your waist, "...Hi."
A soft smile formed on your lips as your hands immediately flying up to cover his hands on your waist, "We've been together all night."
"I know." His voice was warm against the side of your neck, sending shivers down your spine, "And?"
"I missed you." He let out a small whine as his head fell down onto your shoulder.
You giggled at him a little, finding him adorable, "Liam."
"What?" He looked up at you as he turned you around in his arms.
"You've been seeing me the entire night..."
He whined again and dropped his face against your shoulder again, a bit more dramatically than before. The action gained a little laugh out of you, the sound of your laugh making him smile, "There it is."
"What?" you asked him curiously as he glanced back up at you.
"That laugh." he said with a giant grin plastered on his lips.
"I wasn't laughing."
"You absolutely were." He laughed out at your denial about laughing.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"Oh really?"
He looked at you with his mischievous smile, "So if I do..."
As he talked he leaned in, "...this..."
A gentle kiss landed softly on the side of your lips, "...you won't smile?"
Another kiss, this time it landed on your lips. Then another, then one on your cheek, another on your forehead, one on the tip of your nose.
"Liam..."
"Hm?" he whispered as he leaned down to leave a small kiss on your neck, "You are impossible."
"I've heard." he smiled and kissed you again before taking your hand in his, "C'mon."
"Where?"
"My room."
Your eyes narrowed suspiciously at his answer, "You mean your bed."
"...Maybe."
"I knew it." You giggled, slightly hitting his arm.
"I make no apologies." he said as he started to gently tug on your hand.
When you didn't move quickly enough, he simply walked backwards while pulling you along with him,"Liaaam."
"I'm being very patient."
"You are literally dragging me." You protested, but a small laugh left your lips.
"Very lovingly." He defended himself as you coucouldn't stop laughing.
Eventually you let him pull you all the way into his bedroom.
The moment you reached the bed, he flopped backwards dramatically, arms spread wide.
You almost immediately climbed onto the mattress beside him, finding yourself wrapped in another tight hug, "I swear you're secretly a koala."
"No." He whispered laughing into your shoulder, "No?"
"I'm worse." He said as he gentle left little kisses on your neck.
"You admit it?"
"Mhm." a humm left him as he tucked your head beneath his chin. You both stayed silent. The room was almost completely dark, the only light being from the bedside table.
It felt extremely peaceful with you wrapped in his arms. It was warm and you felt so safe.
You felt how his thumb absentmindedly traced across your back. You could hear his steady heart beat and how yours slightly fell into rhythm with his.
"I love nights like this," he softly mumbled, "Me too."
"No cameras."
"No schedules."
"No planes to catch."
"Just us."
You smiled against his chest, his words making your heart melt, "Just us."
He leaned down to leave another sweet kiss on your lips before leaving another. After a few shared kisses he reluctantly pulled away to rest his forehead against yours.
"...Move in with me."
There was a silence thst followed. Complete silance...
You felt as your brain stopped working, you blinked, "...What?"
He looked like he had only just realized what words he said, "I–"
His eyes widened as he sat up abruptly, "I didn't... I mean–" his voice was full of nervousness, "I wasn't planning to say it like that."
You couldn't stop staring at him.
He reached uo and rubbed both of his hands over his face, "oh no...That was way too sudden."
You slightly opened your mouth, wanting to say something but nothing came out.
He suddenly stood up and started pacing beside the bed, "Oh my God." he whispered yelled before continuing, "I completely overstepped."
"Liam..."
"No, no, you're right." he slowly started to freak out more.
"I didn't say anything." You looked up at him, confusion written all over your face.
"Exactly!" He said as he pointed dramatically, "You didn't say anything! I probably freaked you out."
"You didn't–" you tried your best to calm him down but he just kept talking.
"I should've planned something."
"A dinner."
"No..." you laughed out loud at his reasoning.
"A picnic?"
"No." you said again.
"A speech?"
You couldn't stop the smile forming on your lips anymore as you watched him spiral.
"I just blurted it out!" He groaned out dramatically, "Who does that?"
"Liam."
"I can just...forget I ever asked." He sighed out loud before talking again, "We can go back to cuddling."
"I'll never mention it again." He whispered as you reached out to grab ahold of his wrists before he could pace another lap around the bed, "Liam."
He looked up at you cautiously, "...Yeah?"
"You are the cutest person I've ever met." you said with the biggest smile on your face he's ever seen.
"What?" he asked, his voice noticeably smaller than before, "I've never seen someone panic this much."
"I panicked because you looked horrified."he said with a tiny pout on his lips.
"I wasn't horrified." You justified your response as best as you could.
"You looked shocked." He continued the pout growing by the second.
"I was."
"...Oh."
"I just wasn't expecting it."
He blinked at your answer, "...Really?"
You gave him a little nod, "It caught me completely off guard."
"I know."
"You basically asked me while we were lying in bed after kissing me twenty-seven times."
"It wasn't twenty-seven." He whined a little, his hands slightly tightening around yours as he hears your words, "It was definitely over twenty."
"...Okay." You laughed softly, "I just needed a second."
He looked at you and searched your face nervously, "...And?"
You quietly stood up, your hands never leaving his as you said, "I'd love to."
His eyebrows lifted at your confession, "What?"
"I'll move in with you." He just stared at you, a little shocked, "...You're serious?"
"Very."
"You actually want to?" A gentle smile formed on his face, "I do."
For a brief second he didn't say anything, he simply just looked at you, then the biggest grin you had ever seen spread across his expression.
"You'll live here."
"Mhm."
"With me."
"Mhm."
"Like..."
He laughed breathlessly.
"Every day?"
"Every day." you finally confirmed it to him.
He immediately wrapped you into the tightest hug imaginable, nearly lifting you off the floor.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
"No, like–" He pulled back just enough to look at you, "I really, really love you."
"I was fully preparing for rejection."
"I noticed." you giggled and your forehead dropped into his shoulder.
He buried his face into your neck, laughing along with you now, "I'm never living this down, am I?"
"Absolutely not." you confirmed his suspicion
"I'm going to hear about this forever." he groaned.
"For the rest of our lives."
"...Worth it." he said with a voice full of admiration, making you look up at him, "Worth it?"
He smiled before leaning down to kiss you again, slow and gentle, "Worth every second."
Your forehead rested against his as the two of you smiled into the quiet room.
It already felt a little like home.

Freshly Brewed Feelings
ଓ⊱ Harua x gn!reader
𝙨𝙮𝙣𝙤𝙥𝙨𝙞𝙨 : a new job, a warm little café, and a hopeless romantic who falls in love at first sight. Harua's life is about to become much sweeter.
⊱ 𝚖𝚊𝚜𝚝𝚎𝚛𝚕𝚒𝚜𝚝 ⊰
The tiny bell right above the cafe ringed almost constantly.
A few customers were usually running in before work with tired eyes and hair a little messy. While others stayed in the cafe for several hours with laptops, every novel genres you could imagine or sketchbooks opened on the wooden tables.
There was also always soft instrumental music playing from hidden speakers while the smell of fresh baked goods and brewed coffee wrapped around everyone who walked in.
It had always seemed to be one of those places where you'd stumbled in once and somehow always returned for more. Harua had heard about the cozy cafe long before he had ever worked there. Everyone around him seemed to have something good the say about the place:
"The drinks are amazing."
"The owner is ridiculously kind and pretty."
"It's impossible to have a bad day after going there."
One of his best friends, Nicholas apparently agreed with everyone.
"You know they're hiring, right?" Nicholas asked one morning as the two walked across their college's campus.
Harua immediately looked up from his phone, slight excitement flashing on his expression, "Really?"
"Mhm." Nicholas hummed in agreement while looking over to him.
"I've been looking everywhere for a job..." Harua whined and finally slid his phone in his back pocket.
"I know." Nicholas smiled at his friend as he continued, "I work there."
"I know that." Harua hummed wwith a slight pout on his lips.
"And the owner is actually one of my closest friends." Nicholas continued with a slight smug look on his face.
"...I didn't know that." Harua started to slow down in his steps and looked over at his friend.
Nicholas shrugged dramatically as he continued, "They're looking for another employee. I already told them about you." Harua froze in his step completely now, "...You what?"
"You needed a job." Nicholas laughed out at his friend's reaction.
"Yes." Harua frowned while looking down at his feet, slightly swaying the bag on his shoulder.
"They needed someone."Nicholas sighed before he continued once again, "So I connected the dots."
Harua finally glanced back up at Nicho, a slight expression of hesitation was visible on his face as he spoke up, "What if they hate me, Nicho?"
"They won't."
"What if I spill coffee on someone?"
"You probably will." Nicholas shrugged his shoulders and a teasing smile appeared.
"...Nicholas." Harua whined out loud and reached forward to push Nicholas's shoulder, making him laugh.
"I'm kidding." He reassured Harua and playfully pushed him back before he said again, "They're seriously one of the nicest people you'll ever meet."
────────୨ৎ────────
Two days later...It was finally the big day. Harua's first day at the cafe.
He stood awkwardly outside of the cafe, his backpack still on his shoulder since he came right after one of his classes.
He noticed how his hands were beginning to sweat and his tummy felt like it was doing gymnastics.
He looked up at the sign that was sitting prettily above the entrance. It was covered in tiny vines and warm fairy llights, he smiled at the sight before looking down and noticed the chalkboard right next to the door.
It was handwritten and read:
༻ Today's Specials ༺
Honey Lavender Latte ☆
Strawberry Shortcake ☆
Also please don't forget to drink water today :)
The sign made the smile on his lips just grow bigger.
He couldn't explain it but the place already felt...warm.
Comfortable.
Like a second home to anyone who needs it. Harua let out a big breath before he walked forward and pushed open the door. The bell ringed.
The sound made someone from the counter look up immediately and followed with a soft and warm voice, "...Harua?"
The sound of his name being said with that tone made his heart stop. Oh.
Oh.
Oh no.
Harua would never have admit it to anyone but Nicholas had been right.
You were...beautiful.
You weren't pretty in an intimidating way.
But just... you looked...gentle.
Gentle in a why he couldn't explain in words.
You had this soft smile with the kindest eyes he'd ever seen. You wore a apron over an oversized cardigan type top, a little flour smudge staining your left cheek. He thought you looked so comfortable in this environment.
He almost forgot how to speak in that moment and then you smiled brightly at him, "You must be Harua."
"...Y-Yeah." he tried his best to hide the nervousness in his voice.
"I'm glad you found the place." you continued, the smile never leaving your lips.
"I..."
Words.
Please.
Any words.
"...I did."
Fantastic.
Wonderful first impression, Harua! He thought to himself.
You only let out a small laugh as you noticed he was a little nervous. The sound made him nearly melt into the wooden floor beneath him.
The introductions of everyone working the current shift quickly followed. You pointed to Nicholas first as you thought Harua might get more comfortable to see a familiar face, "Nicholas, obviously."
In return Nicholas bowed dramatically which earned him a few laughs.
"Taki!"
Taki waved enthusiastically while frosting some of the cupcakes for the day, "Hi!!"
"Wonhee." you cleared your throat. The sound made her look up from the fresh pastries she was arranging and gave Harua a polite wave, "It's nice meeting you."
"Minju."
Minju smiled warmly and followed up with, "Don't worry we don't bite, plus Nicho said you're sweet."
Harua only laughed awkwardly in return not really knowing with what to reply to her.
"And finally Wooyoung..." you said with a sigh as you all looked over to him as he walked out of the storage room next to Minju.
He had a box in his hand filled with a few coffee beans.
"Ohhh newbie!! Welcome to the chaos!!!" He slightly yelled. The loud sound made the girl next to flinch and on instinct reached out to hit his arm.
"It's only chaos when you're around Woo," you joked with the boy.
"It's always chaos!!" He protested against your words, a slight pout forming.
"It's a lot more organized when you aren't..." you decided to play along with him.
"Sure." He said in the most sarcastic voice he could do, "Very organized."
As you two continued to banter Nicholas couldn't help but laugh and soon after almost everyone was laughing and teasing each other.
Harua watched as everyone started to tease each other. He noticed how there was no awkwardness or forced politeness between everyone. Just friends
Harua was surprised at how easy his first shift went. You had showed him how everything worked and he realized how patient you were with him.
"This machine can be a little dramatic." Your voice cut through his thoughts.
"...Dramatic?" he asked, his tone unmistakably confused and his eyebrows raised. And then as if on cue the espresso machine hissed loudly earning a look from Harua.
"...See?" You giggled out, voice full of excitement since he won't think you're crazy. Harua's laughter had quickly followed after yours. You looked pleased by the sound, "There it is."
────────୨ৎ────────
Whenever Harua got confused–
You explained everything to him again, step by step.
Whenever he made mistakes–
You reassured him that it happens to the best of people and he should just make the best of it.
When he accidentally rang up the wrong order...
"I'm so so sorry—" His voice came out smaller than he intended, nerves taking over his body.
"It happens, it's okay Rua "
"But—" he tried to protest but you cut him off, "I did that three times my first week."
His eyes widened at your confession, "You own the café though...."
His words made you laugh little, because even though you owned the cafe, it wasn't so easy in the beginning, "I know."
"..."
"...Don't tell anyone." you said and nudged his shoulder.
────────୨ৎ────────
Little by little...
Harua started to fall for you. Every day you gave him a new reason to fall in love with you.
One day it was your smile the other it was your laugh, the next it was your kindness.
He fell.
Harder.
Every single day.
Harua loved watching you greet the regulars by name. He didn't quite understand why he did, but he just did.
"Good morning, Mrs. Kim!" You greeted enthusiastically with a big smile plastered on your face, "The usual?"
"Oh, sweetheart, you remembered." Mrs. Kim smiled as she sat her purse down on the counter.
"Of course." you said as you started brewing her coffee.
Another thing Harua loved about you was how you kept little dog treats behind the counter for customers who brought their pets.
He noticed how kids had always received a extra marshmallow in their hot chocolate when you served them.
How students who were obviously stressing over their finals, mysteriously found cookies added to their order "by accident" so it was on the house.
How you helped elderly customers with orders and carried their drinks for them if needed.
Harua noticed everything.
Every tiny act of kindness.
Every little smile.
Every soft laugh.
Every "Take care!"
Every "Come back soon!"
How could someone be this lovely in such a cruel world? He asked him self repeatedly.
One particularly rainy afternoon when the business had slowed down a bit. The cafe became quieter, the only loud noise was the harsh tapping of rain against the windows.
Harua was busy whipping down a table while you stood by the front window watching the rain drops fall.
"You okay?" His voice cut through your thoughts, "Mhm."
"You look thoughtful." Harua smiled as he started with a new table.
"I like rain." you said with amusement, your attention still focused on the window
"You do?" you could hear the curiosity laced in his tone.
"It makes everyone slow down."
Harua looked outside. He saw how people walked closer together beneath umbrellas, how the cars seemed to slow down. You were right, everything did seem so much calmer, "I never thought about it like that."
His words made you smile, most people didn't think like that. "I think people deserve moments where the world tells them to breathe."
Harua hummed in agreement.
Nicholas walked past with a few dishes and he caught Harua staring at you.
"...Uh oh." He whispered near Harua. The sudden voice made Harua jump, "What?"
"You've got it bad." Nicholas smirked and wiggled his eyebrows at Harua.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Harua immediately looked away from him, avoiding to admit anything to him.
"Mhm, sureeee," Nicholas sighed and walked away towards the kitchen area in the back.
────────୨ৎ────────
At closing time everyone cleaned together as music blasted from Wooyoung's strange taste in playlists.
Taki was busy dancing with the broom instead of sweeping the floor.
Wooyoung was pretending that a tray was his guitar. Wonhee was singing along as long as she could.
Minju laughed so hard she almost dropped the clean mugs she was putting away. You were laughing along with her as you finally changed the playlist.
Your finger froze on your phone as Nicholas dramatically announced, "I deserve employee of the month."
"No." Wooyoung whined back at him.
"Why not?" Nicholas acted shocked, his hand flying to his chest.
"You somehow almost set whipped cream on fire." Your voice cut through the music, slight amusement laced with confusion in your tone.
"I said I was sorry."
"You somehow managed to burn milk." Minju spoke up, laughing halfway through her sentence, slightly losing her balance.
"What can I say I'm talented!" Nicholas said with the most serious look on his face making everyone laugh again.
Harua had laughed until his stomach ached. He hadn't realized work could actually be fun.
Another night Harua decided to stay later with the others to help you deep clean the cafe before the weekend.
"You don't have to." You said with a sigh, but you knew it wouldn't change the boy's mind and his words confirmed your thoughts.
"I don't mind."
You two stacked the chair together, whipped ddown the counters and swept the floors since Taki was just dancing with the broom again.
The café looked peaceful without customers.
The fairy lights reflected a soft hue against the windows.
"You've built something really nice." Harua's voice was soft as he suddenly stopped what he was doing. His words made you blink, a little rosy blush creeping on your cheeks, "...Really?"
"Mhm." He hummed softy, "I've never seen employees smile this much."
You looked around you to see Nicholas and Wooyoung still arguing over who deserved employee of the month.
Taki was trying to balance the left over muffins on his head and he was surprising very well at it. Wonhee had given up on stopping him. Minju was recording everything while laughing at the two.
You let out a little laugh and looked back at Harua, "They're a handful."
"But happy." Harua quickly followed, his own smile growing bigger.
"...I hope so." You said with a small smile and looked ddown at your hands
"They are."
Your smile turned quieter, "Thank you."
He wasn't sure why, but hearing those two words from you made him happier than it was supposed to.
────────୨ৎ────────
Weeks working at the cafe soon turned into months. He quickly became everyone's favorite barista.
A lot of customers adored the sweet boy. Especially the older ladies.
"Oh my goodness."
"He's adorable."
"Such good manners."
"Can we adopt him?"
"Can I set you up with my daughter??"
Harua had turned bright red every single time. You found his reaction adorable and hilarious, but you did find some of the older ladies's behavior a little inappropriate.
You told Harua that he should say something to them about it, but he kept reassuring you that he knows they don't mean any real harm.
One evening a customer began yelling because their drink had oat milk instead of almond milk
And before Harua could even apologize to the older man Wooyoung stepped forward with a stern expression, "Sir."
"Don't 'sir' me!" The man yelled loudly making some customers behind him flinch.
"Well I just did." Wooyoung said blankly and abruptly.
"You young people never listen!" He continued with his tantrum and knocked over a holder with some candy in it.
In return Wooyoung just gave the childish man a polite smile, "We're happy to remake your drink."
"I've already waited ten minutes!" The man sighed loudly, clearly very impatient.
As Wooyoung was about to talk again, Nicholas appeared beside him, "Actually it was four."
"Nicholas." Harua whispered yelled.
"What?" Nicholas said genuinely confused on what he did "wrong"
"Not helping."
The man scoffed before storming out dramatically, not caring about the mess he had made. Silence fell upon the entire cafe as people looked around. Taki blinked, "...Well."
"...More cookies for everyone else."
The entire café felt more at ease after his words, falling back into a quiet chatter.
"Thanks, guys." Harua softly said next to Wooyoung.
He only shrugged and said, "No one's yelling at our coworkers."
"Especially not Harua." Nicholas said sternly while looking over towards Harua
Harua blinked confused, "...Me?"
Nicholas almost looked offended, "We protect our baby barista."
"I'm older than Taki." Harua laughed out.
"I said what I said." Nicholas said, raising his arms and walked to the other side of the counter to pick up the fallen candy.
That same night Harua had walked home smiling, not because his shift was easy. It hadn't been.
But because everyone stood up for him without hesitation. He had never ever experienced a work place like this one he had now.
They didn't feel like just his co-workers anymore, you hadn't felt like his boss anymore. You guys felt more like a family to him now.
There was only one problem...
His feelings for you hadn't stopped growing. Every day they kept growing bigger and bigger and absolutely nobody knew.
Well except Nicholas.
Obviously Nicholas knew, "You stare."
"I do not." Harua whined, his head falling down against the counter.
"You smile whenever they smile." Nicholas continued, smiling at his friend's denial.
"I don't."
"You fixed your hair six times before today's shift."
Harua couldn't really protest against him with that claim, because he did in fact fix his hair six times that morning.
"..."
"...Leave me alone."
Nicholas couldn't keep his laughter in anymore, "You actually like them."
Harua lifted his hands to hide the slight pinkish blush that covered his face, "I think I'm doomed, Nicho."
"That you are my friend!" Nicholas sang and walked towards the counter as he saw a new customer approaching.
Meanwhile you had no idea that Harua was going through that emotion rollercoaster.
To you he was just simply the sweetest employee you had ever hired. The employee who tried his best to remember every regular customer's order. The employee who secretly remade imperfect latte art until it looked perfect.
The employee who always insisted on helping you carry the boxes of inventory.
You had caught yourself smiling because of him pretty often recently.
And every morning, as the little bell above the café door ringed and Harua stepped inside with his usual cheerful voice, "Good morning everyone!", the café somehow felt a little brighter.
You didn't know where those feelings for him would lead. He didn't know either.
But everyone else, especially Nicholas knew.
Hell they already started playing very confident bets on who would confess first.
Nicholas was certain it was going to be you!

"I don't."
"You fixed your hair six times before today's shift."
Harua couldn't really protest against him with that claim, because he did in fact fix his hair six times that morning.
"..."
"...Leave me alone."
Nicholas couldn't keep his laughter in anymore, "You actually like them."

The sun may be up, but Oscar isn't letting you go just yet.

The sun's soft glow of the early morning was spilling through the thin fabric of the curtains, painting a golden hue across the entire bedroom.
Everything felt quiet, snuggled in a peaceful silence before the rest of the world decides to wake up.
There was only a occasional sound of birds chirping to their own song ooutsid and the sleepy breathing against your neck that belonged to Oscar.
You slowly woke up, your eyes blinking to adjust to the sudden light intruding your sleep. For a minute, you decided to just lay there, enjoying the warmth around you.
You noticed how Oscar had somehow migrated during the night. One of his arms was lazily draped around the curve of your waist, his face tucked into your neck as if he decided in the middle of the night that you were the best pillow.
His hair was messy and tickled your chin with every breathe he took, his legs were entwined with yours in such way that escaping his grasp would be nearly impossible.
A smile formed on your lips as you glanced down at him, he looked ridiculously peaceful. He looked so different from the focused formula one driver everyone saw on race weekends
Here in your arms he was just Oscar. Sleepy, warm and surprisingly clingy Oscar
You absentmindedly ran your fingertips through his soft hair.
The action earned you a tiny hum of approval that made your heart melt.
"You awake?" you whispered softly against his hair, fingers still softly massaging his scalp.
"Mmm..."
Not exactly an answer.
You felt him nudge his nose against your pajama top before he let out the smallest sigh you had ever heard and snuggled even closer. You let out the softest laugh, "I think that's a yes."
Then another sleepy hum escaped him, "...No."
"You literally answered me.", your voice was full of admiration as you glanced down.
"No, I didn't." He continued to protest, his morning voice making you weak.
"You did."
"I dreamed it."
"So I'm also dreaming with that logic. Are we sharing a dream?"
"Mhm." he sighed against your neck, his warm breath sending shivers down your spine but you couldn't help but grin. Morning Oscar was something else. Eventually, you glanced over at the bedside clock. It was already pretty late and one of you should probably have started making breakfast already.
Carefully, you tried sliding your arm out from underneath him. That was one big mistake. Before you eveven managed to move, Oscar's grasp around your waist tightened on instinct.
"Nuh-uh."
"I haven't even done anything." you let out a breathy whine, your hands flying up to his shoulders.
"You moved."
"I barely even shifted." your voice was laced with amusement as you watched him.
"You shifted with escape intentions." he kept coming up with excuses for his reasoning.
"I need the bathroom." You whined as you left gentle taps against his shoulder blades.
"No."
You stared down at the top of his head, "...Oscar."
"Mmm?"
"I physically have to get up." He responded by burying his face deeper into your chest.
"No." he kept on whining with a raspy voice.
"You can't hold me hostage." you tried your best to say with a stern voice but failed.
"I can."
"You absolutely cannot." you were completely amused by ohis tactics to keep you in bed with him.
"I believe in myself." A laugh escaped from your lips before you could stop yourself. "You are so unbelievable."
"I've been told, darling." His voice was so sleepy that every word blended together perfectly.
One again you tried, but this time you tried by gently pushing yourself upward.
Oscar let out the most dramatic little whine, "Mmmmmm..." It wasn't very loud. It wasn't actually even very coherent. It was just one long, raspy complaint.
His arms wrapped around you even tighter, "Five more minutes, please babyyy." You sighed at words, hearing it for the second time that morning, "You said that ten minutes ago."
"I did?"
"You did." you said with a little giggle in your tone.
"...Then another five."
"Oscar..." you tried protest but it was no use with him.
"Please." His voice was just too adorably raspy from sleeping. "So comfy."
"I know, but—"
"You smell nice."
"...That's your argument?" you raised your brows at his words, knowing he's using every tactic he can think of.
"Mhm."
"You realize flattery isn't going to stop time." you whispered against his hair again making him laugh.
"It might stop you." you said softly with a hopeful tone as he tilted his head up just enough to look up into your eyes.
He looked adorable with his hair sticking up in every possible direction and eyes barely even open. His cheeks still had those little lines indented into his skin from his pillow or maybe even your shirt.
He looked so ridiculously domestic.
And impossibly cute.
"I don't want you to go." He continued with his whining as his fingers slipped underneath your shirt and started tracing random figures on your stomach.
His fingers were ice cold against your skin, each touch making your stomach flip, "I'm not going anywhere."
"You were." his fingers stopped tracing and he looked back up at you.
"I was going to brush my teeth." tried your best to reason with the sleepy man, "You can do that later.", but he had something to say for everything.
"I don't think society would appreciate morning breath."
"I appreciate you staying here." Damn your heart for melting so easily at his words.
"You know," you whispered, your hand brushed through his messy hair again, "you're a lot clingier than people think."
"I'm not clingy." He immediately denied your words as if he's not almost completely on top of you, "You've practically fused yourself to me."
"I'm conserving warmth." he continued to defend himself.
"It's summer."
"...I'm emotionally conserving warmth." his voice of tone was a lot less confident with his answer.
You giggled so hard that the bed beneath you to slightly shook, but Oscar didn't find it amusing at all, a frown covering his lips ddramaticall, "You're laughing at my completely valid scientific explanation."
"Oh, absolutely." He only huffed at your response and snuggled his head back into your chest, "...Mean."
"I'm mean?" you looked down at him with a confused expression covering you face.
"Mhm."
"You won't let me leave the bed." It was your time to defend yourself.
"I love you." The words left his mouth so naturally, so casually as he whispered it into your shirt. You almost believed he didn't realize he said it, it made you freeze for a second before a big smile covered your lips. So big that it did hurt your cheeks, "I love you too." He immediately squeezed his arms around again, satisfied and content with you saying it back.
Also how to him those words were more than enough to convince him that there was no reason for either of you to move. Minutes kept passing one another quietly. You started to trace lazy circles over his bare back as he slowly drifted between being awake and being asleep.
Every few second or minute he pressed a soft little kids against your chest or neck without opening his sleepy eyes as if he was doing it instinctively.
Every kiss made your heart flutter. Eventually, you looked back toward the clock, "Okay."
"No." He immediately whined again against your chest.
"I haven't even said anything." you whispered yelled in a questioning tone.
"I know that tone."
"What tone?"
"The responsible tone." he said softly as a tiny pout lingered on his lips, making you giggle, "We really do need to get up."
Only silence followed.
"...Oscar?"
Haven gotten no response in return made you glance down at him, "...Did you really fall asleep again, baby?"
"...Maybe." he mumbled quietly.
"Oscar."
"Mhm?"
"I know you're awake." you shaked his shoulders a little.
"No proof." he hummed against your skin.
"You literally just answered me, you dummy."
"...Lucky guess." His response made you reach down and gently pinch his side and he let out the softest squeak before he looked up at you with slight mock betrayal, "You attacked me."
"I motivated you." You simply responded to him making him huff, "I'll remember this."
"You won't. You'll forget after i make you your favorite coffee." you gave him a teasing smile.
"I don't forget." he mumbled under his breath.
"You forgot where you put your phone yesterday." You tried to reason with him again but again, he has excuses for everything, "...That was different."
"It was in the fridge." you whispered yelled again, stunned by his logic.
"I had reasons!" Before he could continue you responded, "You absolutely did not."
He sighed and looked away from your gaze as he continued with his confusing logic, "I was...testing the cooling capabilities."
"For your phone?"
"Mhm."
You raised an eyebrow, "Sure."
Oscar tried his best to keep a straight face, but failed as a smile spread across his lips before he could stop it. A little laugh quickly followed after his smile, the sound was still rough and raspy from being tired.
You leaned down and left a gentle kiss on his forehead, "Come on, baby." And yet again he groaned dramatically, "Nooooo!!"
"Breakfast?"
"No."
"Coffee?"
"...Maybe." he raised his eyebrows, slightly getting interested in your offerings for getting up.
"Pancakes?"
One eye cracked open.
"...Chocolate chip?"
"If you actually get out of our bed." you said with a teasing voice. As you looked at him, you realized how he's considering the offer with overly exaggerated seriousness, "...Fine."
You smiled triumphantly, "I win."
"I never said you won." He immediately followed up.
"You surrendered." You said with a certain tone.
"I strategically retreated." he continued...
"You accepted pancakes." You proudly said.
"...The pancakes won."
And before you could have teased him again, he abruptly reached up and cupped your face with one of his hands and pulled you down into a slow, lingering kiss. The kids was messy and warm and wasn't rushed.
As he pulled away, he gently rested his forehead against yours.
"...Actually," he mumbled.
"What?" you asked curiously.
"...Five more minutes?"
You reluctantly laughed as you wrapped your arms around him once more, "Five minutes."
Oscar smiled triumphantly before immediately snuggling back into your chest, perfectly content.
"...Best decision you've made all morning."
"...We are absolutely going to be late because of you." you sighed into his hair.
"Worth it."
