In 2022, I started trialling Alex as my name in public. In 2023, Blaseball came to an end. In 2025, I finalised the process of legally changing my name in every regard (except with PayPal, who don't support that change whatsoever).

Last month, the Blaseball website updated.

The only update was updating the credits to reflect my legal name change. I'm cis, so it wasn't a "deadname", and I don't want anybody to appropriate that terminology on my behalf, but it was nice to have my identity change respected as probably the last ever content update on the site.

i have always thought it would be awesome if someone had a non-nipple sparring mastectomy and then later had nipples tattooed on but in a comical 0 shape to look like they were drawn on with a thick magic marker

(i have no reason to do this as i'm cis and comfortable with how my body looks and would not have/accept any surgeries even to save my life (for personal reasons), but if someone else did this, i think they'd 100% be the coolest person on the entire planet)

(disclaimer: i work in the medical field (mostly non-patient facing) at a healthcare system with surgical services for gender affirming care, oncology and risk-reduction, and cosmetic reasons. sometimes the system is so bleak, i have to imagine ways that people can come out on the other side with joy and whimsy despite it all)

I'm surprised I didn't say this in the original post but to specify: Roy Mustang grew up in a brothel, specifically he grew up adopted by a woman running a brothel where, specifically, all the women there are in the business of covert information reconnaissance by playing escort to important politicians.

Which. is an absolutely batshit primary character backstory to mention once, late in the series, and then immediately move on from.

And actually Hiromu Arakawa did it so well that every single fan interpretation of Roy Mustang for the FMA03 anime treated him as an honest to god man-slut. Bought his whole act hook line and sinker.

And you do, in fact, need to get further into the manga/Brotherhood to realize he is just acting like a slut because surely a true and honest hand-to-god slut like this guy wouldn't be overthrowing the government.

one of the worst things about fandom is when people headcanon a certain character as gay and suddenly that becomes the only valid, practically unofficial-official canon reading of that character's sexuality. gay. just gay. character has shown romantic or sexual desire for women? it's comphet, don't worry, he's still gay. character isn't interested in sex much at all? it's because he hasn't fucked a man, obviously. character has lots of women friends? they are the hags to his fag, he's gay, why are you even trying. and it all seems like a very Transformative and Woke way to read a character until you step back and realize how much biphobia, acephobia, misogyny, and transphobia are baked into the adamant refusal to accept The Character as anything other than gay. it's horrendous, actually. but you will get shot in the streets for this.
