Silence is Golden

Well, my plans are to attempt to help you out - then probably be told to go help Mama with something instead because you are WAY too protective of that grill of yours… I mean, it can’t really be a healthy relationship Dad. 

It’s a very healthy relationship. That grill has been with me through some of the darkest time, like when I almost caused a fire, but the grill remain standing. If you want, I can teach you how to grill some, but on like a regular weekend, not a holiday.

“I do, actually. I even got myself a cool apron. I forgot what it said but I know it made me laugh when I saw it.” He chuckled. “Oh gosh, let’s hope you won’t need it this year than, because I would hate to see you guys on the news.”

‘Well, everything turned out great. Didn’t have any need for the fire department. It was all good laughs and fun. Did you have a good time grilling?”

Well I didn’t have any, but now my plans include crashing your plans, if that sounds okay with you, I miss my Mercedes too much, and you too Matty.

Quinn you have an open invitation. We would love to have you over. It’s been awhile, so catching up is a must.. How have you been?

“damn, that sounds like the best holiday to me. i don’t know if i have any plans yet, actually. gotta talk to the girlfriend and see what she’s up for.”

“Definitely a holiday you spend with those you love, or are close to. When I was younger, I used to spend the day at the beach with friends, but now I’m trying to make it a family thing. Might just end up having a few friends over anyway though. But if you and the girlfriend want to stop by for some free food, come on. There’s plenty. Even if you don’t know me well.”

My plans now include hobbling over to your place and crashing whatever plans you have. 

Mike, you’re always welcomed man. The more the merrier. How are you feeling though?

Right now, I don’t know of any plans that my family might have, a lot has been going on. But, might just do the same as you, get out the grill and spend sometime together, all of us. If we can even get the whole family together.

That seems to be the tough part. As kids get older, they make their own plans and we’re left just fitting in when we can. I hope you can get everyone together for a family barbecue though.

“My plans are to make Ryder cook dinner in his own special apron while I work on stuff for summer cheer camps.”

“Ryder is a good cook then? I think every dad has that one crazy special Apron. What kind does he have? And cheer camp? When does that start because Summer hasn’t started yet and it seems like you’re getting a heads up.”

I’d say I’d bring both my girls and my granddaughters but one of the girls and my granddaughters are gonna be out of town so you might just have to settle for Wanda, her husband, and I crashing. Maybe Lacey, too. You and ‘Cedes good with that?

“Hey, the more the merrier. Plenty of food and we would definitely be happy with you guys crashing. So Grand daughters huh? Man how does that feel? Sometimes it’s hard to believe that everyone is grown adults and are parents and grandparents. It’s surreal man.”

“I know the feeling, I never knew I would be a master of the grill but I tried it one year with Kurt’s dad and bam, he said I was a natural.” Blaine smiled. “I hope so as well! The rain would ruin this amazing and gorgeous day.”

“Do you plan on using the grill this year? The first year I ever done it, let’s just say the fire department was on standby and we almost had to call them. But I can say that I’m more better skilled.”
