yeah. i guess. enough about me and my non-existent love life how is my little brother? Are you and mom getting enough sleep? 

“alright - he’s doing good. i really don’t understand how he can cry so much and not get tired, but all the power to ‘em. sleep is non-existant, but we’re managing.”

Probably not, but if either of them were single and did even a similar thing, i’d assume the best and ask who the boyfriend was. 

“well you have to remember everyone has their own ways of thinking and acting, so you can’t fault them for something like that.”

when both your siblings call you out that you went out to lunch by yourself. it’s totally crazy for me to start dating again.

Emma: I know, and I'm sorry. I just... I don't know. You know I've never really dated anyone before I don't know how to go about things and it sorta just... slipped my mind? It's Banks, you've met Banks before, he took me to prom. I guess I just... figured you'd realize it because I don't know how to talk about things, i'm sorry.

leo: i understand that, i do. i know banks, yes. but i don't want to have to just 'realize' things, emma. i want you to tell me, i shouldn't have to find out about stuff like this through your now boyfriend, in something that wasn't even directed at me. you should have came up to me and said, 'hey dad, i'm dating someone, he's great. treats me well.' and i would have said that's awesome, and i'm glad you found someone who respects you. i would not have been angry, or upset, not that i am right now. i'm just saying i wouldn't have been. it's a simple thing that could have been avoided, and i wish it had been.

leo: i really, do not ask a lot of you, other than to be kept in the loop about things. i don't really care what you do with your free time, or who you hang out with as long as they're good people, but i do like to know who the people are, and what they are to you.

“my daughter and soon to be son’s name.”
