I really abandoned this blog but I'm back with top surgery, hysto, oopherectomy, Stage 1 ALT phallo, scrotoplasty and vaginectomy under my belt. Still healing from all the latter but I'm happy to answer questions about my experiences and such ✌

hey! i use one i got a while ago for my sailor. i wont bother looking it up tho cause it sucks and the elastic has all stretched out and it all but falls off me now =/ im waiting for the magic jock harness, i think its called, from peecock products right now to replace it. so sorry i cant be of help!

I can't speak for all transmasculine people or define it but here is my understanding and use of the word. I'm genderqueer, so I prefer they/them pronouns. But instead of being smack dab "in the middle" of male and female, or other, I'm still in the middle neutral gender part but leaning more towards the male identifying side. I don't at all identify with a female side. Just neutral and male :) quite far to the male side of neutral actually. Yet they/them pronouns still make me feel more at home. And in my head I just dont feel 100% male. Neutral is most comfortable. but in short, Transmasculine also can encompass trans men, it's anyone who leans to the masculine zone more than other zones. So it's a handy term that you can tack onto other genders to express them more specifically. I hope that explained it alright, if not feel free to ask about confusing parts, I'm not the best at explaining

No problem at all :)  I'm completely down to talk and listen to venting!  It's not common to find other people identifying as transmasculine and not as a transman, so I like to be able to show some representation of our existence and to share my experience with it XD And to help other transmasculine people!  Especially because I didn't know that's what I was for a long time and was very confused, so I wouldn've liked to see some sort of representation earlier on.  But ya!  So if you have more questions or need to vent, on or off anon, feel free :)  Have a good one

Hey!  Congrats on coming out  That's a big step and takes a lot of bravery :) Also congrats on your first appointment.  I live in Canada, so apologies if you're from elsewhere and this is a little different than where you are. I didn't need therapy either,  I got an appointment with a trans doctor and was evaluated to see if I could get hormone replacement therapy.  They asked me questions about my dysphoria and what makes me uncomfortable and how long I've felt like this and known.  I didn't know until I was 15 and I told them that, so don't worry about feeling like you have to make a case for yourself by saying you've "always known" unless that's actually true.  Your feelings are still valid even if you didn't realize for a long time.  They also got me to do blood tests and checked my heart and lungs as well as my mental health.  I checked out ok and they decided to give me it because of my gender and body dysphoria!  I probably had about 4 or 5 meetings with the doctor before being given my prescription for T.  I was started off at 25mg, which is the standard start in Canada. They take your blood levels monthly to adjust your T dosage depending on how much remains in your body (how well your body responds to T).  My T levels were very high, so I got lowered to 20mg for the next 4 months (I'm back on 25mg now)  but my friend who is 3 days earlier on T than me didn't respond well to T and had very low levels, so his dose was upped to 30mg, then 50 and he's now on 75mg!  So what happens after the first month really varies person to person :)  By the way, for the mental health bit. I'm not sure of your health in that regard but don't worry too much if you've got stuff going on.  I have severe depression that I'm highly medicated for as well as anxiety but they considered me stable and let me get T :) So if you have any mental stuff, as long as they consider you stable, you're golden! ALso, I had and still have a stomach ulcer, I thought they wouldn't let me get on T until it was fixed but it turned out they were ok letting me get T still.  So it's failry smooth sailing, you don't have to be in peak physcal and mental health to get a T prescription.
