#phalloplasty

Like I don’t mean to vent, I’m just really really tired of people jumping down my throat about how if I like presenting as a binary man I should just rip out all my female parts to prove it.

Anyways…I’m in the same position as you, just in the planning phase while I save up. Undecided between meta and phallo, but mostly because I was told phallo without vaginectomy is impossible if not incredibly painful. Was looking to do meta to phallo to help decide what I wanted but…Could you just tell me what’s actually possible and available for someone FTM who wants a dick and a vagina? And what to look for in a surgeon as far as getting the best results, if you know that much?

At this point I’m not opposed to traveling to another country or continent if it means less bullshit, so any resources for finding surgeons worldwide would be great, and anyone pitching in what they know about options in their region would be great.

Oh man, this experience is ALL TOO FUCKING COMMON!! I'm sorry people have been so dismissive about what you want for your body. You deserve respect.

When I was doing consults for top surgery (which I don't want anymore, but that's a different story) the doctor was insisting we'd have to do it a specific way to achieve the "correct masculine look" for my body weight, and I wasn't able to make any real requests about how I wanted it to look. Many surgeons have a real specific idea of what a post-operative trans masculine person should look like, and it's taking a lot of work to break those moulds. IMO it's your body, your choice—you've every right to keep or yeet whatever parts you like, regardless of your gender/presentation. And vaginectomy comes with its own additional complications like the necessity of a hysterectomy, which not everyone wants, & would necessitate access to HRT for the rest of your life. That's not a choice to make lightly, and not one everyone can make safely!

I've done most of my research using the Facebook group "Metoidioplasty and Phalloplasty without Vaginectomy", which is a private group people have been using to post questions & resources in for years now. People will ask for surgeon recommendations in their area, discuss costs, recovery, share studies and literature etc. I believe there are photo folders you're able to access too if you contact the mods, with examples of post-surgery results. That's honestly the best resource I can think to give you rn. If you can't find the group, DM me and I'll find a way to add you to it.

Phalloplasty without vaginectomy is NOT impossible. Whoever told you that was either misinformed or lying. There are surgeons who will perform this procedure, as far as I know they're mostly in the US but I haven't researched everywhere (phallo options in Australia are dismal, don't bother). From what I've heard, the surgeons who are willing to do this procedure tend to be willing to work with you to create a look you're genuinely happy with. Take as many consults with as many different surgeons as you need until you find one you feel actually comfortable & confident leaving your body with.

It all will depend on your own anatomy & medical needs of course, but you can have this body. Meta is also possible, and simpler than phallo, but of course those results depend more heavily on your own anatomy than phallo. Personally, I haven't had much bottom growth on T, so I'm not super interested in meta for myself and thus haven't looked much into it.
