“We’re gathered here to solve the issue at hand,” Regulus said, arms crossed, as he frowned at both Sirius and James.
“I don’t see why it’s an issue,” James cut in, anxiety already making his heart race. “If you two could just talk like humans–”
“We are talking, Prongs. Now let the adults figure this problem out,” Sirius interrupted, waving a silencing hand at him. “I’ve talked with my solicitor, and we feel that every Friday night is a completely fair thing to ask.”
Remus, who was sitting next to him, rolled his eyes. “I’m not your solicitor, Sirius. I’m your boyfriend, and I also think this is ridiculous.”
“As Regulus’s solicitor, we’re countering with a proposal of every other Friday,” Barty said quickly, his gaze cold. “And a reminder to the judge that Friday nights often eat into Saturdays which were previously claimed by my client in our last session.”
“Remus, argue for me!” Sirius hissed.
Remus cleared his throat, threw an apologetic look at James, and sighed. “My…client…would like to argue to that point as well.”
“Objection!” Regulus cried immediately, standing and slamming his palm on the table. “You can’t have him Saturdays and Fridays! He’s my boyfriend!”
James, however, was losing his patience. “I’m not property!” he said loudly, crossing his arms, trying to decide how much it actually bothered him. “You can’t decide who sees me when, or–”
“Of course you’re not property, Jamie,” Regulus said soothingly, standing to press a kiss to his cheek.
“Yes, we’re basing the rules of this off of custodial hearings,” Sirius agreed, as if the logic wasn’t completely ridiculous. “We even picked a fair and impartial judge.”
“I was blackmailed,” Lily Evans said from her seat, speaking up for the first time.
