Contemplating buying an iPad for my lil independent after work studying … any of my medblr friendos use a tablet for studying outside of a formal university environment, particularly for postgrad exams??? Would you recommend it?
Way too early to start studying for FRCPath Part 1 but even just doing a small amount of independent study whilst doing this job is generating a vast amount of paperwork. I’ve been working here for three months now and already my life is awash with notebooks and folders and post it notes, somehow more than it ever was at uni (maybe because the overall time spent actively learning and studying has improved ……)
Plus I’m looking to develop a baseline little and often method so that when the time comes to start Part 1 prep it’s not a massive shock to the system - especially because hey turns out it’s rough trying to study after a full day of work PLUS I recently learned there’s no passmedicine question bank for Part 1 and like how am I supposed to study for an exam without passmed wtf
My entire seven years of uni i wrote in notebooks as much as possible so I was thinking of just keeping on going with that but I just can’t do the paper and the clutter and the having to carry notebooks and textbooks because hello yes i have to study from textbooks still, alongside my lunch and water bottle and ninety pounds of crap at the bottom of my work bag.
So figured that having a light and compact iPad instead of filling my life with even more paper and sticky notes might be a good compromise so I can retain the sensation of writing in a notebook. Plus if I need to look back at old notes I can without having to carry around fifty notebooks.
But also I’m that kind of impulsive superficial nerd who’s prone to throwing new ideas and gadgets and fresh notebooks and ‘techniques’ at a problem as a stand in for actually tackling the problem so perhaps not.
