I'm not trying to engage in discourse necessarily, but as an aroace person who very strongly believes that ryland grace is aroace, i do still think that people are allowed to ship him and should have fun shipping him with other characters if they want.
fandom has always been a place for not only discussion of the source material but also for shipping and other silliness outside of it. aside from overtly harmful actions to other people, you can do whatever you want in a fandom space. it is separate from canon and created for fans solely to enjoy.
you can love a character's real, canon narrative and still create fictional ones on the side for them that are completely different; that's why there's fic - to explore things that didnt actually happen. it doesn't devalue the larger context the story exists in to do so. and it also doesn't mean you don't understand what the story is truly about. these two things are not mutually exclusive.
Pushing away the fact that I am stupid and brown, I understand Ryland Grace so so deeply and am exactly like him.
I know we old Mark fans are keenly aware that Mark is okay with the Bloodmary ship cuz he's seen worse, I also feel the need to say:
If you wanna delete your fanwork because the idea of Mark seeing it, given he has made it clear he knows about the ship, makes you uncomfortable to a point you can no longer bear to have it public, you are 100% within your right to do so and should delete it if that is what you think is best for you.
The rest of us shouldn't poke fun at people panicking and saying they wanna delete their stuff, discomfort goes both ways and we should respect if people are no longer comfortable having a work published.
People freaking out that Mark knows about Bloodmary like he doesn't have an active tumblr where he interacts with fans.
If RYAN GOSLING finds out about it we're in trouble. Mark finding out was like base level exposure.

Thinking of this concept in which Colt, grieving for the lost of his twin brother, yearns to find him & get back to him somehow.
But in the midst of lamenting and dreaming and contrmplating, Colt finds himself sucked into a portal (gateway? wormhole thingy?) into a massive space ship, far from home. Far from his world as a whole.
Heâs met with the Captain & the Head Engineer of the ship, now unfortunately looped into their time-loop-worm-hole bullshit, but has no choice but to work alongside the Captain & the Head Engineer to get home, and hopefully, as promised by them both, find his brother.
Somewhere on the other end of the multiverse, Ryland Grace & Rocky find a submarine in space, containing a man named Simon & gallons upon gallons of blood.
While how he got there remains a mystery to them, Ryland & Rocky nurse the man back to health. And though Simon remains as on edge as a fighter dog, it wouldnât be long for him to slowly trust the strange human-alien duo.
But when things began to settle down, another wormhole opens up, swallowing the three of them hole & into the endless multiverse.
What Iâm saying is: Bloodymary. Colt/Engineer Mark. Multiversal Madness.

I feel so bad for Grace. Imagine being the most autistic bitch alive and having to survive on slimy blobs with no taste.
Watching PHM with like-minded neurodivergents is so fucking funny because I literally knew what parts would kill them and what parts would bring them joy and what would be added to our vc lexicon. It is like watching the prophecy be fulfilled in real time.
Ryan Gosling is lucky he's chronically offline because he's irreparably changed the neurodivergent / aroace community for the better and none of us can shut the fuck up about it.

Simon outliving Grace by a few years and him being devastated and heartbroken and messed up over it but also struck with an odd sense of peace. Because, despite their many spats and differences, he has Rocky. And Adrian. and all the eridians. And even if he is alone again, he is not lonely.
Simon seeing Grace wrinkle, and Grace makes a lil self-depreciating joke about it. Like he just smiles and chuckles about it, and turns to see Simon.
And Simonâs just staring. Because he never got to see the people he cared about age. And even if they did, it was brutal. Scathed. They looked rough. They didnât age with anything other than their âdo or dieâ lifestyle.
And here is Grace, who has aged as gentle as he is with everyone. Who time has been so so slow with, and who has been through much more than heâd ever like to admit. Here is Grace, who is so so beautiful inside and out.
