You can’t pretend to love like Jesus and then be scared to let your kids be around someone just because they aren’t a Christian

Don’t tell me this is for the sake of your kids when it’s for the sake of yourself

Like there’s no real way to prove whether or not a god exists. I believe there’s some god out there. It makes me happier. Some of my friends believe there’s no god. It makes them happier. We co-exist just fine. End of story.

No real point in arguing this so much, in my opinion, since I don’t think anyone’s opinion is really gonna change.

you can't "prove" that you're not in a simulation, but we shouldn't go out killing people and blowing up buildings and destroying the enviroment because "it's all just code, it's not real"

you can't "prove" that everyone you know aren't secretly lizard people part of a conspiracy to kill you, but you shouldn't start murdering them in "self defense"

or to give a more realistic example, you can't "prove" that a homophobic god exists that will only send you to heaven if you're homophobic

We have a responsibility to not believe these kinds of claims, and if we decide it's okay to believe unfalsifiable, unproven things, we can't criticize these kinds of actions without being hypocrites.

(i feel it's rather overly simplistic to look at religion, this thing that people have lived and died for, that wars have been started over, that society has been drivena bd controlled by for centuries, that has beliefs that are mutually exclusive and contradictory to eachother, and just go "cmon guys get along 🙄🙄")

I try to keep my mind open and my opinions willing to change. As long as you do too I think there is still hope that people's opinions will change?

They're once more trying to pass KOSA, and if you don't know what that is I'll give a watered down explanation.

KOSA is the “Kids Online Safety Act.” It is NOT as good as you think. Yes, it's SUPPOSED to keep children safe online but it'll ultimately, do the opposite. This bill will take away online spaces from teenagers, and if you're like myself? The Internet is something you feel genuine safety on. KOSA will also do the following

Dissolve privacy for ANYONE under the age of 17 (or 16, I've heard both from different sources).

Throw out ANY talk of ICE.

Take away abuse (like domestic, home, physical, mental, ect) hotlines, suicide hotlines, and other VERY important hotlines

No talk of LGBTIA++ topics for minors.

Take away from sex education, body positivity, gender affirming communities, ect.

Drive up the teenage su¡cide rates.

Take away teen spaces.

And SO much more.

What can you do?

Well, you can go sign a petition to stop this (LINK) and spread awareness. That link also gives more information.

Iranian women started an AMAZING trend on tik tok, proving that no matter how hard men try to control women and take away their autonomy, women WILL ALWAYS fight back and tear their freedom from the hands of their oppressors
