Announcement and Rant
To be very honest, I've found the spiritual and tarot community to be very draining and annoying. I've been wanting to make this post for awhile but then there was so much drama and I just didn't feel like it. This is Tumblr, so you can't and shouldn't take ppl seriously but I'm so tired of all my social media saying and doing the same thing. I've decided I have to commit to the changes I want to see in the world if I want to continue on with this blog.
That means to me de-centering men, de-centering romantic relationships, especially cis-hetero ones, de-centering white new age experiences and values.
I've always been open about how I'm a very practical person and how I'm not into new age spirituality (for the most part ideologically) but what you don't know is that I used to be the opposite and it's really disheartening to see people fall for the same new age belief systems that are HEAVILY rooted in antisemitism and white supremacy. A lot of these beliefs and ideas make it easy to radicalize ppl into right wing politics and with the amount of minors reading these, I get stressed, I don't think it's safe, especially as someone who used to watch videos from a cult leader as a teenager when I was first getting into tarot. I'm very tired of the self-righteousness that comes out in not only other tarot readings but in mine as well, in particular in advice pacs, I KNOW that many ppl who read these have mental health issues/are in bad places in their lives but that makes them vulnerable and easily susceptible to ideologies that harm them. It scares me to think that there are so many young people who've come across the same things I have and have normalized them without making their own informed opinion. As usual, I'm going to post whenever I feel like it and on whatever I want but this is a formal heads up. I will start making my pacs and posts more geared towards minorities. My statements are not up for debate as there's plenty of evidence to back up what I said. If you are a tarot reader reading this and you're upset, look up and research the creators of the ideologies that you follow. Specifically about things like starseeds, indigo children, "supermarket spirituality", soul ties, twin flames, how manifestation has ties to manifest destiny and prosperity theology, etc. Think about where these ideas come from and how they can (AND HAVE) cause a lot of harm. Again, I'm not debating anyone nor do I care if you feel entitled to having me justify myself or what I said.
