Rot

Bread sitting on Banana's bed, listening to him play guitar while he scrolls on his phone. Banana going through a multitude of different songs, never finishing any of them. Skipping around chords, mending together bridges and choruses.

Bread clicking his phone off and watching Banana try to figure out what to play next by picking at the strings until something fits.

He'd ask Banana to play Sparks, real soft and gentle, staring at him and the way his fingers wrap around his guitar.

Banana wouldn't say anything, just smiling as he places his fingers where he needs them. He has the lyrics memorized, and he sings them quietly, loud enough for Bread to hear though.

Bread would sit up straighter against the wall, one arm wrapped around his middle, the other hand holding his upper arm. Half crossed, more holding himself than anything. Like his soul might escape and merge with Banana's. He doesn't think he'd mind if it did.

He always hums along with Banana, letting some words sneak off of his tongue. Their voices tangle in the air like all the other parts of them already do.

Maybe this is their song. It always morphs the air around them into something they don't need to explain. When it comes on in the car they just sit and listen. Glancing at one another, relaxing into their bodies, feeling a never ending blanket of warmth under their skin.

When they listen to music when cooking or sitting on the couch or laying in one of their beds and this song comes on they can't help the way they move closer. Hold each other, say sweet things under the melody.

Okay this is getting me somewhere because I haven't been telepathically given the information on whether they have two rooms (that they share occasionally, which would be so fucking real because who doesn't want their own room????) or if they have one shared room.
