the thing that kills me is during seasons 1–2 daniel is so dismissive of armand's whole charismatic and complex portrayal of himself, he's derisive and sometimes even dismissive of the reasonings armand gives to his action. fast forward to when he actually does write the book and, according to the fans, what he actually put on paper is an armand that IS actually as complex as he was so adamant to deny, an armand that is, apparently, layered?

this is the most like base level reading of kim and jimmy's relationship but it just really is so crazy how the relationship on its face looks so sweet. these two people who love each other, who go to work together and then come home to cuddle on the couch and order out and make each other laugh. grabbing at each other's toothbrushes. two people who want the other to be happy and agree that they are happiest together. loving, doting, teasing. but it's in this romantic state that they are the most dangerous to themselves and others. this desire to make each other happy comes at the cost of the people around them. they giggle and hug and share dinner as they plan to ruin a man's life, a destruction that they undertake under the guise that it will make each other happy ("this is for putting kim in doc review" "this is for making jimmy feel lesser than"). their spirits soar, their morality and senses of self sink. "u make me happy, how can that be wrong??" joy is not inherently good. indulgence gives way to cruelty. it was a romantic goal: kim and jimmy were in love, loved each other, loved making each other happy. and that love seeped through the bedrock and became poison when it reached the water supply beneath. countless victims of their Love.
