There, in the nest of richly woven fabrics, embroidered silks and colorful cashmeres, lays …Luffy.

Sprawled on his back, legs and arms outstretched in every direction like he always sleeps, his black tufts of hair sticking out in messy array as if the pillow was a living creature and just stopped affectionately licking it. The single droplet earring Zoro left him behind with still catches the light in his ear, only a bit dulled out in that way gold does from constant touching. His clothes are on par with what he’d usually wear, maybe a bit more ornate and formal, and his open shirt gently cushions around his chest— that falls and raises in slow, even breaths.

The rest of the world, Underworld, whatever, stops to exist. It’s just the dim ache of his knees as they meet the hard ground, the strawhat coming loose from his side and gently floating down to rest beside where it should, the wetness in his eye and then on his face, his captain in his arms. There are broken words slipping from his lips, a reprise of all his regrets finding home in Luffy’s warm skin, a lifetime of hurt finally given some sort of solace.

Yippee! Sorry for disappearing again, but on the bright side i managed to finish the last chapter and thus the ✨ zolu gods au ✨ is finally done!!!
