Even if Hellen deeply cares about Sam, her way of helping wouldn't be anywhere near gentle... but on the other hand, maybe it would be enough to slap Sam out from the spiral!

Sam could get a gentler and nicer support later from Audrey or Lyle or Jeanne or Joel

Rat baby would recognize Sam and love him all the same

Dan sucks at this definitely but he would still be friend and would offer to play games with Sam

Hexbug (they/no english pronouns)

An unusually shaped Eridian. Their tiny legs make them quite clumsy and slow. They WERE the coolest science teacher on the planet until this LEAKY SPACE BLOB showed up!! They have "accidentally" stumbled into Grace's legs and knocked him over several times.

Meanwhile, Grace loves Hexbug and thinks they're amazing. He asks them a lot of questions about best teaching practices on Erid. He is oblivious to their rivalry.

The only human Hexbug tolerates is the science guy.... Bill Nye.
