Sunghoon woke up with a pounding head, papers under his arms wrinkled. He sat up straight, looking around, trying to figure out where and what happened. His throat felt scratchy and his body felt like a truck ran him over.
He groaned, rubbing his eyes, struggling to remember what happened before. How late was it? How long was he asleep?
Right.. the craniotomy..
He went to check his watch only to realize he forgot it at home. He rolled his eyes, then stared at the clock on the wall. His vision was blurry, still from sleep. He squinted and then saw the time.
5:43 pm.
How was he able to sleep this long? The surgery was long over.. no wonder Jay was so worried..
A knock snapped him out of his thoughts.
"Come in." he stood up, fixing his coat. He swayed before grabbing the desk for stability. The door opened and you walked in.
"Hey, are you okay? *random nurse name* saw you storm in here earlier.." You close the door silently and step into his office. „What happened? You look terrible.“ you remark, reffering to his disheveled hair and still very tired looking eyes.
„Yeah, fine. What do you want?“ he snapped unvoluntarily, fixing his hair, trying to look somewhat representable. He fixed his posture, looking into your eyes.
"I.. wanted to check up on you." you explain. Outside of his office, you could hear nurses run around. You cross your arms, suddenly slightly uncomfortable in the awkward atmosphere. "I overheard Jay talking to Riki and... he sounded quite worried." you stared into his eyes, seeing the slight exhaustion he tried to hide.
"Jay is delusional. I'm fine, it doesn't matter." He shook his head, grabbing the desk tighter so he can stabilise himself. His eyes drop slightly, making the drowsiness even more obvious. "Why didn't you stay at home?" you questioned, reminding him of the previous night.
He groaned, letting his hand run over his face. "Last night was a Mistake, but I told you, Im fine. You can leave now, Dr. yln." he declared, sitting back down and leaning his head on his hands, the dizziness hitting him. "Just leave."
You stare at him, worried. "Go home Sunghoon, get some rest, drink and eat a bit." you recommend, moving towards the door. Before you open it, you glance back at him. "Please."
He glanced at you, closing his eyes right after, the light stinging in them. "Go, Dr. yln. Go focus on your actual patients."
You sigh, opening the door. "Call me if you need something, okay?" you leave, not expecting an answer. It's Sunghoon after all.

Sunghoon immediately regretted sending you out. But calling you back would be way more embarassing.
So he stayed alone. His eyes kept dropping, his throat was dry, his whole body hurt. He was tired.
Leaving wasnt an option, not in this state. Who knows how dangerous it would be driving his car. Did he even arrive with his car? He didnt even remember.
So he went to the On call room - he wasnt even working in his shift, but he was sure the hospital wouldnt mind.
The walk there was hard. He kept having to lean on the walls so he wont fall asleep mid walk. Nurses stared, doctors asked if he was okay.
He ignored them. He just wanted to sleep.

Inside the room, he took off his coat and just let it drop to the floor. It was unusual - he knew that - but currently, he couldnt help himself.
He lay down on the bed, taking the super thin blanket and covering himself with it. It didnt help. He was still cold.
But it was the best he had right now. I should be grateful, he told himself.
He curled up, hugging himself. Whyd he have to react to alcohol so bad? Why couldnt he just.. be normal?
But the more his thoughts drifted, the more tired he got. His eyes slowly closed, the light from above still bright. His breathing evened out and slowly, sunghoon let himself sleep.

I want to add on to my original post about enhypen because it’s my account and I can I’m gonna tag it here so you don’t have to scroll to find it. Here
Now I wanted to keep them separate instead of adding on because I feel like this is the one i will more than likely get hate on. Enhypen and Heeseung don’t owe us anything. We were given a statement which in so many words was Heeseung left because he wanted something different, which was his solo career. I feel like it is safe to assume this means contract negotiations have already started and that is what he decided was best for him and his career. They gave us a statement and I feel like that is what so many people are missing. Everyone was so wrapped up in the notion of he was forced out and that this statement is not what people wanted to hear. We again do not went on behind the scenes and while I am nosy I have accepted the fact that we might never know and maybe that is for the better. Because what happens when you are given the full picture and you don’t like it, what happens if there is animosity or resentment. What happens if it is just what the original statement and letter said that he just wanted to go a different direction. Babe people change their minds. What if this allows him the flexibility to live how he wants. There are so many possibilities as to why he left and we were given one why isn’t that enough?
Also this is where I might sound like a bit of an asshole. The need some engene feel to put down the remaining members or to just be outright disrespectful is so insane to me. The only member I have not been able to find referring to enhypen as six is literally Jake who if I’m not mistaken was the closest to Heeseung. No one is asking you to forget 6 years of being a fan of a seven member group however people are asking to respect the decision of all seven members enough to not be an entitled cry baby about it. And I understand I am what most people would consider callus or emotional detached so personally moving on and respecting decisions of other is something I don’t really struggle with (thankfully, in my head it’s like damn that’s crazy but ok). But you can mourn ot7 and still respect what has been asked by the remaining 6. You can be ot7 and not be demeaning or demanding of all 7 members to lay out what was probably a very painful and difficult decision between not only bandmates but friends for 6+ years. I don’t think yall understand how hard it must be to be repeatedly asked for the reason of what was I am assuming a tumultuous conversation followed by a literal career and life altering decision. Yall are not engenes yall are bullies. Let them be because it’s almost always we find out later but 4 months in the middle of a world tour and comeback/debut is a major ask for people you don’t personally know.

Now I did say I would refrain from talking about heavy kpop topics but considering I see enhypen next week I might as well say this. Before we get serious though if you see someone with a birthday sash at Dallas day one please say hi.
We don’t know what happened with enhypen. However it feels like they have been hinting at the fact that they would like to be referred to as ot6 for months now. And it started when jungwon first said something on live then jay saying enhypen is enhypen, to now jungwon saying enhypen is six, and that’s just some of the instances because almost every member said it. Now we can guess and speculate and be upset about it but at some point you have to learn to respect it. While I think we would all like to know what happened at the end of the day they don’t really owe it to us. We probably will never know the full extent but that is because at the end of the day we are just fans. We don’t know them they don’t know us. It seems like they don’t necessarily want to be associated with each other publicly right now and it’s something that should be respected. Lastly closure is not something strangers can give you. I’ve been a kpop stan since I was 10 I turn 22 next week and most of the groups I loved when I was younger have disbanded or members have left. At some point people leave without a reason yeah you can be sad about it but you have to move on. And this toxic cycle of bullying the member that left or bullying the members that stayed are going to do nothing but hurt everyone and start unnecessary fan wars. And again yeah it sucks but at this point truly being ot7 means showing respect and support to both enhypen and Evan. Continuation here

You turn off your phone and place it face-down on the table, shifting your attention back to your friends. „Who was it?“ Yeonjun asked, reaching for the wine bottle. „Riki. Him and sunghoon are out drinking. Apparently he got drunk.“
Martins eyes narrowed. „Sunghoon? Dr. Park Sunghoon? Our Neurosurgeon? The one who hates alcohol since it is a neurotoxin?“ Minnie looked up from her plate, shrugging „Something must‘ve happened. People drink to forget all kinds of stuff.“ You take the wine bottle from Yeonjuns hands, earning a confused look. „Then something big must‘ve occured.“ You pour yourself another glass of wine. Martin crossed his arms, leaning forward. „Is someone worried?“
„What? No.“ You shake your head, taking a sip of the wine - which tasted horrible by the way. „It‘s just… i dont know! i just hope riki takes care of him.“
Your friends share a look, then martin bursts out laughing. „Right… not worried.“

„Get.. your… ass.. in!“ riki breathed, trying to get sunghoon into the car. Finally, after definitely more than 15 attempts, he was able to lift him onto the front passenger seat.
„Why did you drink so much today, hoon?“ the younger asked, leaning over to put the seatbelt on.
„only jake can call me that.“ sunghoon slurred, getting an eyeroll from riki. „You‘re lucky i like you. Now! let‘s get you home. You will definitely not attend surgery tomorrow.“ Sunghoon shook his head, leaning onto rikis shoulder. „No.. i need to… its an important… cranio….“ and he was gone. asleep.
„God sunghoon!“ Riki lifted his head away and closed the door, moving to the other side of the car and getting in. „Do i really have to carry you up the stairs to your stupid apartment?“ he groaned, starting the car. He pulled out of the parking lot, shaking his head. „The scary doctor park sunghoon. Asleep after a bit of alcohol.“

Sunghoon woke up the next day, no sense of time. He tried to sit up but immediately regretted it, laying back down with a throbbing head. „Fuck….“ he covered his eyes with his arm, groaning. As he turned to the side, he saw a glass of water and some painkillers, including a note.
He picked the yellow stickynote up, squinting to try to read it.
„dr. yln is worried about you, mind sending her a message? :) - riki“
„What the fuck…?“ Sunghoon whispered, trying to understand this whole situation before grabbing the pills and swallowing them down with some water. He let himself fall back onto his pillow, closing his eyes once again. Why exactly did a pediatrician knew about his drunk state? How much did she know?
Fuck this was embarassing.
But if she was worried.. he should text her, right? Tell her that he is alright, just a small text.
He groaned once again, pushing himself up. Sunghoon pushed his blanket aside, sitting on the edge of the bed. His head was still pounding badly. He just has to go through the day…
He got dressed, drank 2 glasses of Water and walked out of the flat.
The sun was bright. He felt it immediately, a stinging sensation in his head through his eyes. He shook his head and avoided looking at anything bright.

At the hospital, it was already crowded. Wasnt it like.. 6am? Why is it already so full of all the doctors working the midday shift?
Inside the elevator to the 8th floor, he met Jay.
„Sunghoon? You look terrible.“ The cardiologist shook his head, staring at the younger man. „Thank you, Jay.“ Sunghoon pressed the button to his floor. „No seriously. Why are you here? Dr. Choi took over your surgery.“
That caught Sunghoons attention. „What? But the Surgery hasnt even started yet… its six in the morn-„
„Sunghoon. Its three in the afternoon.“
„What..“ He shook his head. „No Jay its 6am i have surgery in an hour.“ He looked up at the older guy, whose face was in worry.
„How much did you drink?“ Jay asked. The neurosurgeon put his hand over his eyes and shook his head once again. „I don‘t drink…“
„Apparently you do, Sunghoon why arent you at home sleeping out your hangover?“
The elevator made a ding sound and sunghoon stepped out, not giving Jay an answer. He walked fastly to his office, shutting the door behind him. „If i catch you riki…“ he mumbled to himself, searching his desks for any files of the craniotomy HE was supposed to do.
He groaned in pain again, sitting down. Sunghoon put his head onto his crossed arms and then.. fell asleep.
