So I have made the decision!

I will no longer have separate blogs devoted to different fandoms!

I used to do this so people could easily follow a blog with what they are currently into…

Although, now that I am branding..it’s a bit hard to put a bunch of different names on a business card! I have chosen my blog BLK-L to change to UltiMaL (or ulti-mal in some form) I will no longer be active on any other blog but this one.

I will always have those blogs up though for the past art to remain there!

Please excuse while I slowly start to change things over to this new brand name :3

This will also mean this will not be a Voltron only blog and I will be posting anything on here.  Which can be good or bad news for some of you  So I understand if you want to unfollow :3

But Voltron is what I will be mainly drawing at the moment

When I get into a fandom, I fall head first

Hello, hello, hellooooo~!!

Yesterday, I posted about my Chinese LawLu doujin being available in Taiwan and China. I also mentioned that I will be opening pre-orders for the English doujin as soon as possible. Upon checking my schedule, pre-orders will open sooner than I thought.

In case you’re wondering why I’m suddenly opening the pre-orders, it’s mostly because of some financial struggles. I won’t go into deep detail but one thing happened after the other and I unexpectedly found myself short on cash. I’m in a bit of a pinch so this is one route I felt like I had to take.

Now before this post leads into more personal depths, let’s get back to the doujin.

Both of my English doujins will be up for pre-order on AUGUST 1-31. The price range starts from 8 USD to 40 USD . There will be packages up for pre-order that contains not only the doujins but also keychains, stickers, pins etc. And it won’t just be LawLu! Remember the Marimo ball I was talking about before? Yep, that’s going to be up, too.

I’ll be posting the packages with prices as soon as I can but for now, here’s a preview of the first few pages of the doujin to give you an idea of what you’re getting. I’ve also posted images of the LawLu keychain here. People who order the doujin packages on the first week of August will get a free sketch! Yay!

Hi, guys! It’s been a long while since I last posted anything and this wasn’t really the “comeback” post I had in mind but my situation leaves me with little to no choice. So here goes…

For over a month now, I’ve been having nerve and muscle problems with my hands. It isn’t carpal tunnel (thank goodness) but it’s still painful as fuck—from my shoulder all the way to the tips of my fingers. Again, it isn’t carpal tunnel, but treatment requires me to 1) not use my hands too much and 2) buy expensive medicine. My medicine costs approximately $17 a week. This is on top of other medical stuff I need for asthma, allergies, and kidney issue that I haven’t revisited a doctor for yet. I’m not sure about your country but with the Philippine economy, that amount is A LOT to spend on a weekly basis for an average-earning citizen. 

Now as a freelance artist and writer, my work is greatly impacted. Between my husband and I, I’m the one that earns more for the both of us so our financial status is currently in a pinch. My husband, who has recently been working on game development, is also having the same hand problems as myself but with our current situation, we can only afford to send one of us to the doctor for treatment.

Thankfully, we have ways to get food, water, medicine, doctor’s fees, and other bills. Our current problem is rent ($150) and internet ($100). Before you say internet is an unnecessary luxury, I would like to reiterate that my husband and I both get our clients online. Our work needs the internet so it is a necessity to us.

My initial plan was to open quick commissions or sell some art-related stuff online if I recover soon to offset the expenses, but treatment is taking longer than expected and we’re starting to run out of both money and options. Accepting freelance work is going to affect my recovery. I really didn’t want to talk about this here to ask for donations but this is the only choice I have right now. This isn’t forever, of course, since I’m hell-bent on recovering and getting back on my feet (hands?). The thought of not being able to draw like I used to scares the shit out of me and this whole thing has been very depressing but I can’t let this get to me. Must stay positiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive!! Special thanks to YuGiOh Duel Links and Boku No Hero Academia for distracting me from my problems albeit temporarily.
