What’s the only color that a sapphire can’t exist in?
@elfo8792 you are correct! Red is the only color, cause then it would be called a Ruby! Thanks for answering! I love to see people engage

Absolutely wonderful sapphires! We can see a few different types of cuts here, from cushion to pear to square to round to oval. Now, these are rather good colors! Some do have some extinction spots, but that’s to be expected. What’s an extinction spot? It’s a spot where there’s no color on a gem, specifically where it’s too dark. A window is the opposite problem. Where there’s almost no color, when the rest of the gem does.

Yes, I understand it’s odd to add a link, but I wanted to talk about mining emeralds. Emeralds are found in hard stone, making it difficult to mine them. As you can see, this (quite large) gem has impurities and cracks. That’s because miners don’t use pickaxes or drills to mine emeralds, they use explosives. Yes, explosives like dynamite. Another factor to consider about its impurities, is a lot of cutters focus on maximizing a gems weight, rather than quality. Unfortunately, it’s a rather common thing. I’m saying, it may be better to get a beautiful, high quality gem, rather than a large one.

Now, the description of this gem said that this piece is indeed an emerald, accented by diamonds. But, due to the fact it’s taken by hand, not professionally, I’m going to say this is an antique. Something bad about antiques, is dirt, dead skin and other icky stuff can get under the setting, so when you do get it cleaned (either professionally, or by simply washing it with water) that icky stuff can get washed away, and now the gem is loose or can even fall out! But if you get it professionally cleaned, you can also get said gem reset, making it stable.

I love these earrings. I also love the matching baroque pearls. Looks like Tahitian? They could also just be dyed, but that can be said for any pearl. I also love the theme of these, they are smooth and elegant. Just, yes.
I absolutely adore this! Now, it is probably fake, seeing as it would be very hard to turn into a bottle without at the very least plugging the side, but it is still beautiful.
Sorry for being gone so long, I was working on school! I’m going to Gia, gemologist institute of America! If you guys are going there, let me know, maybe we can meet up!
This one was too good to pass up. Enjoy!
Now, unfortunately, I believe the green pieces are nothing more than glass. It’s still beautiful though.

Fun fact about quartz. It has a ability called “piezoelectricity” It means, if you heat up or squeeze a certain gem enough, it will produce an electric charge! I don’t know why power companies aren’t using it, maybe it’s because it will damage the gem. Still, imagine the amount of electricity that piece of quartz can make!
I am a fan of this ring, because it reminds me of the earthbenders in Avatar: The Last Airbender.
This gem is known as black Opal. Quite unique, don’t you think?
An Opal ring! A very nice carving.

Now, these may look like pearls, but they are actually opals. Still very nice.
This is information about necklace length, and normally this applies to pearls, but this could apply to any number or different necklace variations.
