the sun was high in the blue clear skies. the may heat was hot especially with the graduation gown and hat on. y/n stood before the mirror, adjusting their hair before they were ready to head to the ceremony.

“this is it,” they mumbled to themselves. they got into their small car and drove off to where they would finally get their bachelors of digital art and design degree taht they have been working towards the past four years. a part of them hoped that mum, dad, and their siblings would show up. the chances were slim.

the auditorium was filled with chatter from families, friends and fellow students who were all buzzing with excitement. y/n’s eyes scanned the arena for their family, but to no one’s surprise, they didn’t show up. y/n’s stomach twisted even though they haven’t been in contact with their family in a few years.

they sat in the student section, all of them awaiting for their name to be called.

“y/n l/n, bachelor of digital art and design!”

y/n perked up and stood up from the cushioned seat, a light applause broke in the auditorium. they climbed up the few stairs on the side of the stage, they shook hands with the dean and took the scroll of paper.

“let’s go, y/n!”

“woohoo!”

“that’s so pog!”

“y/n!”

their eyes widened when they looked into the large audience where in the centre stood wilbur, tubbo, tommy, technoblade, phil, and kristen. all of them on their feet and cheering the loudest.

phil had his phone out, assuming that he was capturing the moment. tubbo was jumping up and down in excitement while wilbur and tommy where shouting.

y/n could feel a genuine feeling of shock rise on their face, they grinned at them where wilbur was quick to take a picture. y/n soon sat back down in the student section, quickly pulling out their phone to see the many messages and notifications.

NO WE CAN NOT. WE FLEW FROM THE UK TO SEE YOU. COME SEE US FIRST.

y/n looked up from their phone to see the group of six all waving at them. a large smile drew up on their face and they waved back. although y/n could hear their friends mentioning to them taht they wanted to take a photo, y/n sprinted towards the group. wilbur was first to pulled them into a tight embrace.

“you guys!” y/n exclaimed, “you didn’t have to fly all the way to america!”

they all laughed, “y/n, of course we’d fly all the way to see you! it’s your graduation day!” tubbo told them, “that’s so cool by the way!”

“thank you, tubs!” y/n grinned, hugging tubbo, “i can’t believe you guys came to see me, i’m going to cry!”

techno eyes widened, “please don’t, i don’t know how i would handle that.”

y/n hugged each of them individually, even tommy despite his slight complains. they had tears brimming their eyes, “i can’t believe my best friends would fly like seven hours to see this while my family won’t bother to drive twenty minutes.”

“y/n,” tommy frowned slightly, “we’re always here for you, mate, besides a meet up was bound to happen at some point.”

“yeah, we all love you! it’s your big day!” kristin added, phil nodded and pulled out his phone, “you’re even trending!”

“you posted that?!” y/n shrieked, looking at the image of them standing on stage with their degree.

“what? it’s a good photo of you, you look fine.” techno reassured, “come on, we all want to take photos with the one with a college degree.” he said with a playful eye roll.

“me first!” tommy shouted, pushing past wilbur towards y/n, “i need to post on my twitter first before you dickheads.”

tubbo threw his arms up in the air, “i was standing next to them for the longest time, tommy!”

“i don’t ca- okay, get in the picture, tubbo...” tommy mumbled. y/n laughed and reached for tubbo’s twitc long sleeve. they pulled him beside them where kristin took a picture of the three.

soon wilbur joined in, then techno and phil. they all took pictures with y/n. tubbo and y/n were the shortest among the seven of them, which only made the pictures ten times better with the height difference. although only tommy and tubbo posted on twitter, which the minecraft community were thriving off of.

even after an hour, #WELOVEY/N and #CONGRATSY/N stayed trending at number one on twitter. so many fan arts were posted in which y/n took their time to like and comment on each one of them. thanking the individuals for taking the time to make the drawing.

the sun was setting, making the blend of orange and pink settle in the skies. the group sat at the patio of a restaurant, finally calming down from the past hours of hype and over excitement. which phil and kristin had to handle and deal with.

tommy was laughing loudly at the glass of water that tubbo had accidentally split all over their menus.

“tommy, shut the fuck up!” wilbur hissed, his ears were red from embarrassment, “jesus christ.”

“you gotta admit wilbur, it was quite funny.” tubbo snickered, wiping the water down with the napkin.

“you’re making all of us look like idiots,” techno told the two, “we’re all adults who play minecraft for a living, come on.”

“okay, genuinely,” y/n sighed, raising their glass, “i just wanted to say thank you to all of you for coming today, it means the actual world to me. i wasn’t expecting anyone to show up, and the fact that my internet friends, my best friends, flew in to see me. that’s insane, so thank you. i love you all.”

“awh, y/n!” wilbur beamed, “we would fly in anyway for you, we’re always here for you.”

“i’m only a few hours away too. you know, y/n, we could do that plan we’ve had back when we were like sixteen.” techno grinned. y/n’s jaw dropped slightly,

“actually? like the- like the move in together and play video games forever plan?” they asked, “seriously?”

he shrugged, “if you want and if you’re up for it.”

“yes! duh! why wouldn’t i?”

“oh, that’s not fair!” tommy whined, “you two get to move in without us?”

“now why would we want to live with you, tommy?” techno asked him, “you’re too chaotic.”

“you’re to american, dickhead” tommy shot back, “besides i’m moving in with tubbo once i’m old enough.”

“besides the jokes here, y/n we’re always here for you. you and techno can move to uk if you want or stay in america, but we’d fly any day to see you” phil told them truthfully, “cheers to you and all of your hard work, congratulations on your graduation.”

“thank you, phil” y/n smiled, clinking their glass against his.

“cheers!”

“who needs a biological family when you have a family like this?” tubbo grinned, “congrats, y/n!”

“thank you, guys! i love you all so much,” y/n laughed, “i’m going to visit brighton soon, i promise.”
