My quick thoughts on Legend of Zelda and Zelink:
My favorite Zelinks are TP, ALBW, OOT, ALTTP, ST, Oracles, EOW, and TOTK!
TP Zelink are my top faves. I just love exploring their relationship. All the interesting ways that they could go about getting together. And just the soft and gentle aspects to their relationship 💚💜
I am the self-proclaimed King of ALBW Zelink lol. I say this because I genuinely believe that I'm one of the few people on planet earth who cares about them. They are just SO underrated. But if nobody in this cold, cruel world will create ALBW Zelink content, THEN I SHALL CREATE THE ALBW ZELINK CONTENT MYSELF!!! (my mission statement lol).
I'm not a big fan of BOTW, but I like TOTK. I know. I'm weird 😂

Slow Burn - I love a story that builds slowly and really allows you to get invested. And if it's a romance... well that just means we have so much more time for passing glances, and awkward hand holding, and overthinking every single hug 😏
Secret Dating - I think this one just has more of a thrill to it. And also the characters can at least be honest with each other instead constantly denying such obvious feelings 😂
Best friends to lovers - This one just always makes me feel good 😌 And I've never really been fond of enemies to lovers because I feel like it usually hinges on at least one of the characters being really unlikeable 😅
There's only one bed - You just can't beat this situational awkwardness. It opens the door for so much sweetness and stubbornness. I love it 🛏️
Hurt/comfort - This is where all the good emotional stories take place.
Fantasy au - I just love fantasy ✨ And modern AUs are kinda boring ngl
Domestic bliss - I like imagining characters in simple, domestic situations. It feels very relatable and easy to appreciate 😌
Fluff - It feels good. And I feel like most people aren't capable of writing smut well :P
Canon-compliant - If an original piece of media requires a "fix it", I feel like I'm unwilling to check out fandom content in the first place. But I always enjoy sticking to the realm of canon content!
Character death - Gimme that tragedy and ALL the emotions that come with it 😈 I can take it (<- can and will be destroyed emotionally).
One-shot - I know I said I like slow burns, but hey, when a one-shot is written really well, they can hit especially hard. And I appreciate the conciseness in those cases.
Kid fic - I like family fluff a lot, so yeah. Bring on the kids 🎉
Arranged marriage - I like the complex emotions that comes with this sort of thing. Also I don't think I've ever read an accidental marriage fic? Well, maybe one but even then I'm not sure 😂
Middle-age romance - I guess??? I don't know what even counts for this category to be honest lol.
Isolated together - This could lead into "there was only one bed" and I like that, so...
Neighbors - Let's keep some distance between us, shall we? 🧹💨
Magic au - I guess??? I don't really care about AUs in general tbh 😂
Body swap - This can lead to so many humorous situations and I appreciate that lol.
Angst - I like optimistic angst in particular. Where the characters refuse to give up hope when they probably should... That's some good stuff right there 👌
Mundane - Something something "domestic bliss" ✨
Happy ending - I just like these :)

I have a lot of complaints about BOTW. And while I enjoyed TOTK, I have my fair share of problems with it too. But idk. After recently playing some big triple A modern titles, I almost feel like I've judged them too harshly. Because at least these games don't force you into segments that are nothing more than mindless walking simulators. Or force action commands during cutscenes to make you feel like you're actually doing something.
Like... these are actual games. And they very rarely feel repetitive or stop being fun to play. At least, as far as my memory goes lol.
Elden Ring is really good in this regard as well. Its gameplay speaks for itself and you are constantly engaged with it even when you're pushing 80+ hour playtimes.
And even older titles like Skyrim felt like they had a much stronger focus on the game and actual, real content. And that came out almost 15 years ago...
Tldr: I think I'm just sick of the direction some modern games have went in 😓 And I'm starting to appreciate older titles more because of it.

We can tolerate it once. But twice??? Clearly you are addicted to salvation, and we need to talk about it. 😂😂

WW Tetra teaching her kids to playfight from when they’re little and Link just having a heart attack. “THEYRE FIVE AND THREE, TETRA. WHAT MADE YOU THINK THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA???” “Link they’re the children of a pirate and a hero. They asked how to do it and I showed them.”
TP Link asking Rusl and Uli about every little detail because he’s an orphan and they pretty much raised him so any and all questions about parenting immediately go to them.
OoT Link being very, very naive about babies, and needing to be taught a lot of the basics beforehand. But he takes his job as a father seriously and nothing makes his eyes light up more than to see their child. He pours his heart into raising them and though he’s gone a lot, every moment he spends with his kids, he makes up for his absence ten-fold.
TP Zelda loves to walk the halls at night with her babies and singing them her childhood lullaby. Link often finds her curled next to the crib with a book in hand (you can better believe it’s something akin to The Odyssey.)
Oot Zelda totally brings her baby with her everywhere. She wraps that little thing in a sling and goes. Link adopted this too so, when he’s on baby duty, you can often catch him correcting his troops from the sidelines with his son/daughter strapped to his chest.
Tetra was really worried about whether or not she’d feel truly maternal to her baby but she’s actually the one more likely to swoop down upon her kid to cover them in kiss. “If you’d kept your guard up then you wouldn’t have gotten caught. Heh.”
SS Link totally took his kids on the min carts in Lanayru Desert (after a LOT of puppy faces). Zelda doesn’t know (shh) but if she found out then she’d be really jealous.
Let’s go Old School: LOZ/AOL Link marries the AOL Zelda he awoke, they have several babies, and LOZ Zelda becomes their aunt-figure. :P
