I largely am unlabeled queer, but don't reject labels I just don't want to feel restricted to certain boxes. I am in a t4t polyamorus relationship.

My favourite things are rainbows, glitter, snakes, everything purple, magical girls, stuffies, plants, writing fantasy/sci fi, and learning about mythology/folklore/religion.

I live on a island of the shore of BC Canada. I love living in a rainforest by the ocean! I have always felt connected to the sea and rain!

I consider my spiritual beliefs to be pagan but I'm kind of agnostic about it! I lean towards celtic paganism but being that I have largely French and some Scandinavian ancestors I feel close to Gaulish and Norse paganism.

I am a big eco activist! I am trying to switch to a zero waste life style! Being environmentally conscious is incredibly important to me.

I dream of having a career in either mermaiding, veterinary science, or marine biology. I haven't decided on my future path yet

[Cw animal death and morbid interests non graphic descriptions] I have a fascination with animal bones and bodies and often collect remains I find to preserve and keep. I have a collection of taxidermied animal skins and take pictures of all roadkill I'm come across. I think death isn't a negative thing but a promise that all things are oathbound to keep for the gift of life! I find death beautiful and wish to honor dead animals I come across by keeping them as art in my home.

This disability pride month I need every person who says "wheelchair bound" to stop immediately and go listen to wheelchair users on why that is offensive language.

I was explaining it to a coworker and he was all like "ok but its not all the time right? what about paralyzed people?" Yes it's still offensive ARE YOU LEG BOUND? ARE YOU RESTRICTED TO YOUR LEGS THAT WALK AROUND AND GET YOU OUT OF THE HOUSE!!!

When you tell someone about being mistreated because of your disability, there is a common response that goes something along the lines of, "But did you explain to them properly why you can't do x thing?" "Did you make sure they understood why you need x accomodation?" "Maybe they just didn't understand?"

For example: "Did you properly explain that the reason you don't do hugs is because of your autism?" or "Maybe they don't really understand how bad fibro fatigue is and that's why they got upset at you for concelling plans."

I hate these kind of responses. They give me the same vibe as being asked, "Yeah, but what were you wearing when you got catcalled?" They put the responsability for the problem onto the person who was discriminated against, instead of the one doing the discriminating. Disabled people should not be expected to go through grueling explanations or justify their needs before those needs are respected.

People really don't think about how isolating it is to have a sexual, urogenital, reproductive, or gastrointestinal disability.

If you have sexual dysfunction, its considered a taboo, a hush-hush condition, something to never be spoken of. A failure, a humiliation.

All of the "can't get them wet", "can't get them to orgasm," "can't get it up in bed", "only lasts two minutes in bed" jokes, dismissing the real people with sexual dysfunction, the real people struggling. How do you think they feel, hearing these "jokes"?

If you have fertility complications, it's considered something to be pitied for, a "failure of a man", "failure of a woman", "failure of a person", a "waste of your genetic line."

If you have complications with urination or defecation, it's considered gross or belittling. Nobody wants to hear about it, nobody wants to acknowledge it, and God forbid you have an accident in public - then everyone's eyes are on you, judging or pitying.

And menstrual & perinatal disabilities just aren't taken seriously. If you have debilitating menstrual cycles, for example, its brushed off as "typical" or "an exaggeration."
