IT WAS HARD to describe what Cinque was feeling, especially that encounter with Siceâs alternate self. Even if she was the alternate version of their classmate ( their sister, would be the better word to describe her ), to have to fight against her was something Cinque didnât want to do. It didnât feel right at all to be on the opposing side and for the first time, Cinque had felt some hesitation.
âHey, CaterâŚâ She began, the two sitting on a park bench as she swung her legs a bit. The two had decided to meet up after all of this was over, but after what had happened, Cinque wondered if they could find a normal topic to discuss. Finally sighing, she turned towards her, biting the inside of her cheek.
âDo you think⌠Siceâs alternate was what could have happened if we actually became lâCie?â The Crystal had asked them to become lâCie to protect it, after all.

The battle was over. People who died were back now, but the city was in shambles. The scars of what happened were still on the streets, reminding people that no matter how well they adjust to make their lives seem normal it wasnât.Â
That irritated Cater to no end. She didnât like her situation and worst yet, she didnât like how close it had hit home for her. Of course, she wasnât going to really tell anyone about that. She was frustrated but thereâs hardly anything she could do, which got her even more mad.Â
She had her friends and thatâs all that mattered. No matter what would go on, her classmates had her back and that brought some relief to the gunner.
âProbably,â Cater shrugged. She thought about the possibility of becoming a LâCie. âI wonder how long that Sice was a LâCie though. She acted like our typical Sice just...meaner, really.â
Cater tried to act like she didnât care. It was over and that Sice was long gone. She wouldnât admit it though but she was glad that she wasnât chosen as the LâCie just yet.

âAnother scavenger among the rubble?â The voice came from a woman who seemed to be throned on the top of a pile of shattered concrete, grinning down at the girl who had appeared below.
âSo many come and goâŚhave you come to pay your respects to the shattered remains of a war-torn sector? Or are you really just here for nonexistent spoils?â
âScavenger?â Cater gave an annoyed look, her arms crossed. She looked offended by the word. In honesty, the girl was just trying to look for her fellow classmates. She knew they were all right but she just had to make sure, herself.
Cater knew it was courteous to pay respects to those lost in the battle but she didnât care. They knew what could happen if they went into battle and they still chose to go. Itâs not her fault that they died. They shouldnât be fighting in the first place. âIâm not here to find loot.â she wasnât going to mention how she wasnât here to commemorate the fallen. At least, not yet.
âIâm looking for my classmates.â
What sort of crass brute would collide with someone and then issue a rather paltry threat. Someone who lacked any sort of decorum of course, and although it was quite unlady-like to show anger, Neo couldnât help but feel vexed at the words that had just been flung at her.Â
Wordlessly did she manifest her anger, in the form of her bicolored hues settling on a common ground of pink for a few moments; yet upon realizing her inappropriate behavior she would close them, as if resetting them back to their natural two tone state. Another outlet appeared in her mind, one much more graceful and full of tact.
After her bearings were recovered, Neo rose to quickly retrieve the spilled content of the bag, like a gracious lady would do.Â
Yet when everything seemed in place, she would make her way to the nearest wastebin. It was for a brief moment that she would lock eyes with the girl who by this time, probably was in awe of her kindness â before tossing the bag into the receptacle, that was where last centuries style belonged, right?
Cater eyed the girl as she began to help pick up her belongings. Something about her just didnât sit right with Cater. Either way, Cater just wanted her stuff back so she could hurry along and finish her errands.Â
Caterâs hands were up, ready to receive the bag. Instead what happened next just pissed off the girl. âWhy would you--? Agh!â She ran towards the wastebin, before she was about to retrieve her bag that Mother gave her, she decided to show her gratitude.
âAh, silly me,â she started. She pulled out the bag from the trash and swung it towards the other quickly, hoping to catch her off guard. A fake smile was plastered on Caterâs lips as she did this. She canted her to the side, âI forgot that some people donât have manners.â
â â âFourteen huh? Sounds like some sort of special ops division that youâre part ofâŚâ He tried to put it into context by throwing in a similarity even though he realised that she may not understand, but sometimes it was just best to vocalise his thoughts. âRed DevilsâŚ?â Sounded ominous. Almost as though it were an enemy name.Â
Steve kept his fast walking pace that was enough to warrant a run from anyone shorter than him, his long legs giving him leverage with each step forward. His shield at the ready as he made his way to the alley. âPretty sure he was down here somewhereâŚâ He noticed a shadow. âOver there!âÂ
âWe were definitely special.â Cater grinned with pride, âWe got stuff done.â Cater didnât like slackers and she definitely didnât like people who were incapable of doing a decent job. If they werenât at her level, she would prefer them to stay home and out of the way.Â
As she followed the man, her gun was ready, finger on the trigger as she waited to get a clear shot on the man. Cater was quick and sometimes impulsive, but today she did her best not to run out and shoot the guy. She wasnât equipped with her gun or her magic, plus she didnât know what this robberâs abilities were. Instead, she stayed behind the officer with the shield.Â
âLetâs go then!â she took a step out before speeding up a bit. She wanted to catch this guy and catch him now.

âHm.â
Garnet stared plainly at the BB gun the girl held. Of course, she didnât really know what it was, as no Gem she knew of used a weapon like this.Â
âI havenât seen a weapon like that before.â
âWell you ainât missing much.â The girl sighed and she twirled it on her finger. âThis here is a piece of junk gun that is supposed to be my replacement.â
The girl scowled at it before holstering it. âI hate it so much.â She turned her gaze towards the stoic woman. âSo what do you ? Do you punch stuff when you fight?â
Shinra wasnât really sure whether he was amused or intimidated by her violent temperament.Â
âItâs difficult to venture a guess when I donât even know what their reasons are for keeping us here,â he replied. âBut I doubt Iâll ever get that much out of them. If I had to guess in spite of all that? Iâd say itâs doubtful.â
It wasnât a very optimistic answer but it was most likely the correct answer.
âI suppose itâs not terribleâŚÂ âThe wise adapt themselves to circumstances, as water molds itself to the pitcher.â I guess we should make the best of the situation. Easier said than done but..â
Cater let out an exasperated sigh. These scientists seemed to be untouchable and that really irked her. The boy kept talking and Cater could care less. She was irritated with the realization that she probably wouldnât be able to do anythingÂ
âYou sure talk a lot.â She stated bluntly.Â
âYeah, exactly!â Gumi was glad that she seemed to be more friendly now â and that they were able to bond over their hair.Â
âIt definitely suits you! Do you have to style it a lot?â Gumi knew that sometimes their hair refused to cooperate â it was something that even being a robot couldnât help.
And then Gumi realized something â they didnât even know her name!Â
âOh! Iâm sorry for not introducing myself sooner â you probably think Iâm rude. Iâm Gumi! Whats your name?â
âNot really,â she placed a hand on her chin in thought. She never really did style it now that the thought about it. âIt sorta just looks like this. I just pat it down. That usually keeps it in place.â
âGummi? That sounds like a candy.â There she goes again, unfiltered thoughts slipping through her lips. Cater didnât care, nor did she regret it. âMy name is Cater.â
Unknown Territory // Sice + Cater
Hah, Cater was as firey as always. Normally, the reaper wouldâve snapped back at a pistil being aimed straight at her face, but she understood. Getting shot into a place such as this one⌠it did a number on the nerves. Cater wasnât as steel-witted as some of the others like King or Sice herself. Sheâd have to be a bit more patient with the gunner. Crossing her arms and smirking at her, she began to bark.
âHowâs about ya put your toy down before ya shoot my eye out, hm? Otherwise, weâre both gonna have a real bad time.â
The reaper dropped her guard only after Cater did the same. However, she wasnât prepared for the shots that came next. Deep cutting questions, the same ones that already tore at her own mind. At least she harbored the answers to some of them. Caterâs efforts wouldnât be a complete waste after all. A stern demeanor painted the cadetâs face, her tone low.
âWeâre in some kinda weird experiment, based on what thâwhitecoats said. Iâve been here a while, and havenât found a way out. Hah, at least ya can still do somethinâ. They gave me a hunk of wood.â
Sice slammed the end of her scytheâs pole against the pavement, splinters flying and breaking off from the impact. Hm. Couldnât even give her quality wood, huh? She felt her heart sink slightly upon the gunnerâs other question. Were they still deadâŚ? Who knows. Based on what Jack had told her, theyâre supposed to be.
âFor some stupid reason, I donât remember any of that happeninâ. But Jack filled me in. Iâm thinkinâ weâre supposed tâbe dead, but this place definitely ainât part of our world.â
Her head hurt. If only Mother was here. Sheâd make much more sense of their situation than all the cadets every could.
Cater watched as Sice broke her only means of a weapon. âGood going.â she muttered. With arms crossed, she listened to her explain what she knew. Cater had that annoyed expression on her face she would get when Trey would talk too much. She definitely didnât like what she was hearing.Â
A sigh escaped the auburnâs lips. âThis is just so stupid.â She looked around, this place was no where near similar to all the cities she had been in the past. âSo what are we gonna do here then? Just walk around like some useless kid? I donât want to do that.â
âWhere are tha rest of the class anyways? I saw Nine earlier. If Scarface is here then the others must be too, right?â
The hive is anything but underwhelming â what, with all the chaos and so little time? Thereâs almost something reminiscent of home in the way all Percyâs blood rushes up to his head. After causing what heâd be less inclined to call a flood (more of a quick fix), he makes a break for it.
Itâs only natural that he lands back in the original version of a nearby district, not far from the water he accessed in the alternate world. Some of it, heâs crystallized into a solid in case there werenât any attainable forms where he wound up next. Good thing, because bullets are sounding off and some girl is bouncing from one place to the next, taking out those blobs and a few people heâs never seen before.
Allowing the large crystal to melt between his hands, Percy uses the water to spread thinly over into a layered shield that solidifies from his shoulder to his waist. A quick burst of energy has him shoving through the crowd, knocking out a few on the enemy line and panting a little once heâs at her side. âJust an idea. How about we get out of here?â
Cater was glad that reinforcements had came. Granted, it wasnât any of her classmates but this boy was capable enough. âI had it just fine over here.â she huffed before tossing a mine out. With a quick shot, it detonated, causing the enemies nearby to flew off in different directions.Â
She looked over the boy momentarily, debating if she should go with him. She really wasnât one to retreat but in this situation, it was a necessity. He did just make his way to her to help her out. She gave a reluctant nod, âYeah, sure, whatever. Letâs hurry then!â She motioned the other to lead the way out, he was the one with the shield after all.

âWell...itâs not as good as the COM, but I guess this phone is better than nothing.â
There were more and more of his classmates showing up , as much as it was a surprise..it was still a bit alarming given the current situation in Hive. Brows furrowed at the teen as his own hands rested on his hips, mirroring her. âCater?â Heâd speak loud but her name came out slow, hanging at the tip of his tongue. âIâve been here, yo! WHERE have you been? Yaâ late to this class ditchâin party.âThe city got weird in the nick of time, Nine fully didnât understand what the hell was evening happening but in all honesty it was for the best. The blond tried to contain the relief he had when seeing his fellow classmate safe and out of harms way, after all he was a tough guy and tough guys did not cry! â Of course I would be, yo! Ainât letting this city bring me down.âÂ
âIâm not late to anything!â the girl scrunched her nose before crossing her arms. Sure, she had been here for over a month, but within that month she had only met a few of her classmates. Apparently, the girl wasnât looking in all the right places. More and more of her classmates were popping up and finding her instead of the other way around.Â
She took out her gun, a grin on her face. âNice chatting and all,â she started, âBut I think we should celebrate our lilâ reunion by going and shooting some stuff!â she waved her hand around as if to show their current situation. âNowâs a perfect time, if ya ask me. We got our weapon and powers back, might as well take advantage of it.â

âNine!â The auburn-haired girl ran up to her fellow classmate, clearly excited to see a friend. She placed her hands on her hips, leaning forward just slightly to lecture the other. âWhere have ya been? You couldâve come and let me know you were here sooner.â She gave an exasperated sigh, she was relieved that he was okay, really. âIâm glad that youâre okay,â she waved her hand in regards to the cityâs current situation, âFeels like another war, huh?â

Cater despised the situation she was in. She was separated from her class, now alone to defend herself from the invaders. She could handle them easily. Well at least she had the attitude that she could defeat the large number.Â
Cater was now running towards a district that she had never set foot in. She found herself in an unknown location, oh well, sheâll find her way back somehow. She was too busy shooting from her pistol, magicite bullets homing in on each and every body. The invaders didnât seem to let up. With every one that fell, another would pop up. She was seriously out numbered and wouldnât be able to make it on her own if another one were to come in.Â

posting order: cinque -> cater -> rem -> alt!sice
ITâS AN ALL out war between the two cities and Cinque canât help but be reminded of home. Granted sheâs not sure which war was the bloodiest. All she knows is she needs to protect their Hive City and not let the alternate one destroy them. That she can do with no problem.
Itâs a shame that she had to reunite with Cater and Rem during this entire mess and sheâd rather had seen them after all of this was over. Though, at the same time, sheâs glad that theyâre alright and not hurt - or worse - and teaming up reminded her of old times.
âTheyâre taking this reaaaallly seriously. They really do mean business, huh?â She hasnât broken a sweat yet. It feels good to have herself back at fully ability, since it gets the job easier. âHmmm⌠We should look for the others ~! Theyâve gotta be around here, right? Right?â
There was an uneasy feeling inside of her though. She canât figure out what it is, though. Maybe itâs just gas.
âOh! Are you guys OK? Maybe we should rest a lil for Remski, right Cater?â
Cater didnât like this one bit. Sure she was happy she got her gun back but for what cost, to go fight in another war? No thank you. Though it did feel nice to shoot stuff again.
Six quick shots were made before the short-haired girl was jolted back by a charged bullet. âItâs like the war with Milites all over again.â She huffed, getting back into motion. âWell if theyâre gonna play hard, we just gotta show âem whoâs boss!â  Cater turned to Rem, she knew of her condition but even then, she felt that if Rem couldnât keep up she should just stay out. Even after all of the events that happened, Cater was still hard on the other. âYouâre right Cinque, we might need back up.âÂ
The girl was out of harm's way, resting and making sure not to bring the two other girls down. Cater was too busy shooting at the others, focusing on which spell to cast not to notice her fellow classmate.
next to reply: Siceâ

âYeah, I have! People didnât mention it much it much back where I came from⌠but it doesnât seem super common here! I donât really mind, though â itâs allowed me to talk to new people!â Gumi really was always glad for anything that made it possible to make new friends â and that was especially important here, where they didnât really know anybody to begin with.Â
âAnd, yeah, I guess youâre right! I think Iâll keep my hair â itâs almost like a good luck charm!â they said, smiling at her. âBy the way, your hair is cute too! I like it a lot.â
âWell it is one way to get a conversation started.â the girl mused aloud. She pondered the thought of having a different color or even style for her locks. Cater was content with her current look and she didnât want to change anything. The other mustâve felt the same. Good for the other.Â
She smiled at the compliment. The other mustâve felt obligated to make a nice comment. Or maybe they were serious. In any way, Cater was going to accept it. âThank you! Itâs natural too.â
innocence is a ă á´ĘÉŞá´á´Â ă
No harm, no foul, as the saying goes, and yet⌠the poor girlâs found herself at the end of Silverâs bladed tongue. âYouâre annoying.â He says simply, as if that alone is reason enough to harass some innocent bystander.
âHeh. Me? Iâm going to be the worldâs greatest trainer, and Iâm not about to let anyone get in my way â so Iâll say it again. Mind your own damn business.â
âThe one whoâs being annoying is you! Youâre a whining baby, attacking people who havenât done a thing to you.â Cater was getting very irritated. She was tempted, oh so very tempted, to go and knock some sense into the boy.Â
âPsh, and Iâm going to be the worldâs best gunner.â she rolled her eyes, sarcasm was dripping off every word. âWait scratch that, I am the worldâs best gunner. Tough luck buddy, stop telling me what to do and follow your own advice.â If this kid kept it up, she as going to shoot him. Even if it was with some lame BB gun, sheâll find  way to make it hurt.
