"Yep, that's the Jade Hawke I know." Colin leaned his side against the cool bars, its temperature oddly calming him in spite of the very dangerous situation they were stuck in at the moment. A part of him wondered if Mik was stuck down there with them in another cell, but he could typically feel the vampire when he was near like a burning flame of a candle. Taking his mind off of the biggest reason he was down in a basement cell, the witch returned his attention on the other who clearly couldn't control her movements. Guess that is what happens when a powerful goddess hitches a ride. "Your guess is as good as mine, but wherever here is, it's because of Bellora on your end. A perverted, psycho vampire who teamed up with her on mine because of his son on mine." Colin pulled one knee up to his chest and breathed a sigh, eyes landing upon Jade again, "I think the goddess returned to her own body. You've been out a while, it seems." Back leaning against the wall behind him, he took a moment looking her over, "Are you okay? Stupid question, but thought I should at least ask."
"Of course it's because of the bitch." Jade knew that her bad luck had truly stemmed from the moment that the goddess had invited herself into her body, and she was helpless to stop it. Everyone was helpless to stop it until the point of no return. The witch snorted, "I should have known you held the candle for dick, Colin. Why else would someone run from a marriage to Bishop of all people? Especially after she stupidly sold her soul." Not that she really had any say in the matter, when at the end of the road, she had also sold her soul. For her, though... it was survival. She had failed to kill the traitors, and it was only a matter of time before her uncle came for her. Jadis rotated her hands slowly, noticing that her favorite rings were gone; no doubt Bellora's way to take away her weapons, not that she was strong enough to use her own blood to fuel her magic. She leaned heavily against the bars, conserving as much energy as she could, even though the cold was biting into her through the flimsy dress the goddess had put on her like she was playing dollies. Absolutely disgusting. "Very stupid question, but I don't hate it," the witch sighed, "no, I'm not okay. I know why she left my body. I can't sustain her anymore, and she left me alive with just enough juice so she could watch me die slowly. And painfully, since she dumped me with the fangers." Jadis pursed her lips, the dim light swallowing her silence. If she sat here, thinking about how miserable her life was until this point, she could almost laugh, but not this time. This time... she was fucking angry. Angry that her life had constantly been tossed about by hands that were not her own. And... sad. An almost gut-wrenching sadness that she couldn't comprehend, but knew it was the loss of what could have been. "Let's face it, Colin, I'm not making it out of here alive, but I have enough strength in me for one last fight, and I'm going to get you out." It was the reality of the situation. She wasn't strong enough to make it two steps out of whatever hellhole they were in after expending the last of her energy. Her voice cracked, and she was too tired to school her emotions. "Someone has to live– someone has to tell people what happened to me. Tell Fraser that I didn't abandon him, or tell my kids that I'm sorry I never turned out to be the mom that they had, and it's going to be you."
