Lineart and values have been done but, no joke, I have NO IDEA where to go from here. Color has broken me. I’ve been stumped for so long, leaving them and coming back.

I’m still extremely proud of where they’re at. I just don’t know how I want to color or render these. (Feel free to make suggestions.) I just wanted to share them with y’all :)

Just a silly crossover that wouldn't leave my mind

my pipe dream is to live long enough to see a dracula adaptation movie that a) is a good movie, b) significantly adapts the events of the novel dracula (1897), and c) but not any of the really racist parts and also doesn't add in any additional racism of its own. I've got a handful of movies that get 2/3, but let's be real, most drac adapts are 0/3. I think it's possible I think we can do it I think it just might take forty more years.

actually one of my favorite changes in the guy who didnt like musicals reprise has nothing to do with the production itself and everything to do with the audience

for the most part reactions are similar, laughing at jokes, cheering at characters. y’know. normal stuff.

at the end, when paul comes back out, after emma had been told he’s dead

in the 2018 proshot, you can hear the audience get excited, people loudly gasping.

in the new version? they already know.

I’m so used to hearing a reaction at that part, i didnt even realise i was waiting for it. and it doesnt come.

while physically, this has been hell for me, it has led to the single funniest note from a doctor i’ve ever gotten

for context: the treatment is a boric acid suppository, and if you ingest it, it is fatal. this is a completely reasonable statement from my doctor.

You know, an interesting tumblr transformation that's happened gradually, and which I've seen no one talk about: ask-culture has essentially dropped off to nothing.

By which I mean, asks used to be WAY more of the tumblr economy. They used to be more common to send, and receive, and see. They were integral to the collaborative, forum-like behavior of old tumblr communities, not even to speak on the HUGE number of ask-blogs that used to exist to only be interacted with in ask-form.

I'm not saying this in a vying-for-attention way but instead in an observational way: I used to get way way more asks in like 2015, even with a fraction of my follower count. I wonder if it's due to the homogenization of social media sites? There's a lot more of this divide between "content creator" and "consumer" instead of just a bunch of peer blogs who would talk to each other. "Asks" aren't really a thing on twitter, are they? And as I understand it, the closest thing to an "ask" on instagram or tiktok would be a creator screenshotting some comment and responding to it in a new reel or video or whatever those content mediums are. Are asks just too tumblr-specific? Is that aspect of the site culture dying out as more and more people converge to using all their social media sites in the same way?

it's probably from assholes making asks a minefield of trolling/harassment for years with no real blocking ability, which turned people off from allowing asks on their blogs so as a whole the site moved away from it

but now that we do have better blocking, we should try to revive it.
