But since I've started to post regularly fanarts here (HELENA) and was welcomed first by lovely Lovestruck fans, it motivates me to keep going. I was always a firmed supporter of, you're your own cheerleader (ok it's not the expression but I don't know how to say it), and was quite blown away by how much it touched me to get feedback on my drawings. I got to draw Adela, Valid's fan apprentice !! I wanted to loosen up when having an ask in mind. In general, I can't seem to put colors without the piece being a bit clean, but here we go, I wanted to try.
It's part of a fic / art exchange. GUYS if you have any idea/prompt about a Nadia x Gender neutral!apprentice. HMU.
Do you have any tips for drawing anatomy? I really love your art, and I would appreciate any kind of help for my own. Thank you!
Attend figure drawing sessions whenever you can. They do generally have a cost, the organizers usually have to rent a space and hire a model, but I think it’s the most effective way to learn. There are some free online resources, I used line-of-action.com for the ones I just posted, but they seem pretty limited. (Class mode is great, it lets you warm up with some quick poses, just like real figure drawing sessions) Still, it’s a good place to start~ I think some online resources seem… less professional? Like the photos aren’t from figure models, but just random people? Which is fine, but you can get less dynamic poses.
You should probably also supplement figure drawing with some musculature studies, just so you can know how things fit together and change with movement. I’m terrible about this lol.
I think that’s about it, lemme know if you guys have any more questions!~ I’ll try to have some solid advice~~
There’s also Café croquis, a youtube channel, if you can’t aford figure drawing workshops yet. The Croquis Cafe is a figure drawing class recorded in real time, featuring models in artistic poses.
There’s figure drawing in the title for their videos with figure drawing like session. Of course it won’t beat IRL volumes sense (and the stimulation to work with a group and a guide/teacher/host) but it’s quite useful and very clean, looks like they've also plenty of new models and all body type.
