Shinso is Shouta's sixteen-year-old nephew. Like his uncle, he inherited the gift of perceiving ghosts and speaking to them, but unfortunately, they quickly realize he can hear them, which is why they follow him relentlessly. Shinso's power, which is a kind of ghost antenna, makes him a fully-fledged medium, and is stronger than Shouta's. The boy is so terrified of them that he now lives his life silently, isolated with headphones in his ears. He sleeps little and is perpetually angry, convinced he'll never have a normal life. Because of this, he's had problems at school, has no friends, and has started to become problematic at home, so his mother sent him to his uncle, hoping he could help him.
Shinso's parents are the kind of people who are afraid to ask about the supernatural, but this is the most help they've thought they could give their son, trusting Shouta and thinking that he lives alone and can let him work for a while, perhaps teaching him to "control" the "situation" by making him seem normal, as Shouta did as a boy (spoiler: yes, Shouta had simply learned over time to shamelessly lie to his family, pretending nothing was happening until he was old enough to leave).
Too bad Shouta and his family haven't seen each other in years, no one in the family knows about his relationship with Hizashi, and Shouta hasn't answered calls or texts for days, unaware that his nephew had been sent on a train straight to his home…
