is it better to speak or to die?

She is the fmc and just got 7 scenes without grayson in 2 books?? And out of the only 3-4 scenes are truly focused on her. Everyone else already had significant role in prev books, so I was attached to everyone else, but Lyra was just thrown into the chaos and everything just overshadowed her character arc. So I really looking forward to see more solo scenes in tgb, because as much as I will enjoy her visiting Hawthorne house, it barely serves any purpose to her story.

Everytime we got a scene of just HER, we got to know something about her. In the dress naming scene, we found about how she was raised in a loving home and was taught that at the end of the day what really mattered was whether you could look at yourself in the mirror. Before the starting of 1st round of the grandest games we found out how she runs as a coping mechanism, how she used to dance. In her intro scene we found out she is very smart and will stand up for herself, later the same was evident when she was the first to figure out the riddle after her breakup with Grayson. That's all the scenes she got and in the grand scheme of things that's all we know about her.

Conveniently, jlb could afford to give her solo scenes, because her and Grayson already have a well-established healthy relationship, and are in a way better position than other couples *cries in knoxalisa*.

Plus with Lyra we have a lot of trauma to unpack. Grayson is helping her get over it no doubt, but she needs to get some level of closure ON HER OWN. This is what happened with other characters, Rohan helped Savannah but she didn't got a real closure until she talked to gigi; even though everyone helped Grayson, he was the one who chose to go to therapy and get better himself. Even Gigi's arc that we have gotten till now is her doing things on her own to prove her worth and now she is going to London, which will eventually help her find herself. It is unfair to rob Lyra of this closure.

She needs to be the one who chooses to be happy, who chooses to dance. Otherwise, it would be too easy for ppl to paint her as the damsel in distress who got saved or just never see her as a character of her own. (we absolutely don't need more of that.)
