oscar and i have been teammates since 2024 and we may or may not have something going on between us. most people perceive us as best friends, which is true..! because we’re practically stuck together by the hip anyways. and if we ever have a disagreement over something stupid, he bribes me with timtams.

to say we’re friends would be a stretch, honestly. i’ve barely talked to him, even though he’s such a popular face on the paddock. i guess we just see some things differently, and that’s okay. the few times i’ve talked to him though were okay.

i’ve babysat leo a couple of times, i freaking LOVE that dog 🥹 overall, i have a pretty neutral stance about charles and we sometimes share a laugh with each other. however, if we get in each others hair during a race we’ll both get a little pissed and not talk for a while — seeing as we’re both sort of unforgiving, especially if we cost each other a podium or a better points placement.

ollie is probably my second best friend on the grid right after oscar, we both have the same sense of humor and got along really quickly at the start of the 2025 season. we hang out a great deal during the offseason and in between race weekends too.

i enjoy mimicking esteban’s accent. i’m sorry but it’s true, that’s the kind of person i am. because im close with ollie, and obviously esteban and ollie are teammates so i’m around him quite a lot as well. he’s pretty funny in a self deprecating way most of the time — i’d say we’re bordering on friends, or something close to it.

apparently i have a thing for babysitting, because i’ve also babysat his son multiple times and that child is SO cute. fernando is almost like a dad to most of the grid…? and i feel bad that he has to race in the car that is the current aston martin lmao. we’ve mostly had racing related conversations so i can’t say much about his humor except that i expect it to be filled with dad jokes.

considering his entire schtick is being a zionist and mooching off is his daddy’s money, i really don’t like the guy. i find him to be teeth gratingly annoying in every aspect possible. i’ll be real for once and say i’ve walked away multiple times when he’s tried talking to me. i’m glad he’s a back marker at its finest because that’s where he belongs.

on track this man is my biggest enemy. i’ll say it once and i’ll say it again — off track we’re frenemies, id say. we both get annoyed by the things we say about each other and other drivers and rarely agree about anything. other times we agree about almost everything — but those weekends are extremely rare.

because ollie is so close with kimi, i am too. i feel like a proud older sister now that he’s leading the wdc, and get so giddy whenever he does well in a race. ollie, him, gabi and i have a group chat on instagram together, it mostly consists of random reels without context and the occasional sticker made of a bad screen cap from a media day interview one of us gave.

this man is practically my father. seeing as we’re both german, we were instantly interlinked. we often give interviews for the german broadcasts together and confuse everyone else on the grid (excluding max) when we speak german with each other. 10/10 love this guy

as mentioned, gabi is in that group chat with us, and he’s by far the worst offender of the screen cap stickers. i’m pretty sure he has a folder full of them on his phone. he likes teaching me portuguese insults — dare i say, i’ve gotten pretty proficient in them…? gabi’s a great guy, lmfao.

i can’t lie, i have him convinced that i manifested his monaco podium this season, so he keeps coming to me to tell him his future even though i can’t do that in the slightest. surprisingly, that’s also the only time we talk.

franco is a close friend of mine, and i LOVE gossiping with him. mostly about people we both dislike. think a coffee date every free saturday where we both just gossip about everything and everyone. i also love his fans, if that counts. they’re all so jolly — wow.

i have already put in my application as flower girl at his and lily’s wedding — they are so cute together. we talk quite often, not just about the wedding obviously, but i DID help get lily’s ring size… heh.

after hungary i have one sided beef with him, iykyk. he’s a funny guy, sometimes. let’s just say i hope he sees the blue flags next time 😇 i’ve been avoiding him since the hungary race. call me spiteful, but if oscar’s pissed with someone, i mostly am too.

i look up to max so much. he’s such an incredible driver and person in general. he’s also sometimes involved in nico and i’s german shenanigans —all the while i try picking up some dutch from him. the dutch language is like if german and english had a baby to me, so id really like to master it. we get along well and i do try my best not to aggravate him on track.

i used to be good friends with isack, but out friendship fizzled out after a bit. i think he just got a bit too entitled for me to justify being friends with him. he’s not a bad driver by any means but, you know.

every time i see him being recorded by the vcarb admin, i run. he’s made me deeply afraid of him, even if the admin is nowhere near. seeing as that is what i do, we haven’t talked much. 😭 i think we could get along, though.

arvid and i immediately got along and are now simultaneously getting our regular drivers license. let’s just say he’s doing a bit better than me, but it’s not my fault i can’t parallel park. he laughs at me whenever i forget how to change the gear…

he gets me. i have his ass calendar propped up in my driver room, not because i’m into asses… but because i think it’s funny, lmao. i’m so intrigued by this man’s off season activities. i just hope he knows what i think of him.

﹕ ˶ no, thank you for the invitation! my name is izzy mcallen, i was born on january 12th 2003 to my wonderful parents in berlin neukölln. my dad’s from germany and my mom is of aussie descent — but i also carry some polish blood in me.˶

﹕ ˶ we all know who you’re driving for now, but how did you get here? ˶ ﹕

﹕ ˶ i started karting at, like, eight — which is sort of pretty late if you compare me to some of my peers, but hey! we’re in the same place now, so it doesn’t matter. growing up, one of my biggest idols was sidney crosby, so i was originally going to play hockey instead of, well, driving cars on weird squiggly roads. the only reason i stuck to racing was because i won my first race ever the first time i even went.

okay, given it was at a friends birthday party, we were eight and it was probably just out of pure luck — but i won nonetheless! my ego could not, and still refuses, to be bruised, so i begged my parents to let me join a local team. they agreed! buuut the teams age requirement was ten. so i had to wait to years and continue racing independently with twelve year old kids i completely sweeped… even made one bottle his entire race, oops. sorry.

when i was finally old enough to join the team, i actually won the brandenburg karting championship in my first season. let’s just say the older kids weren’t to happy to see some random ten year old girl completely trash their season. i stayed in that team for another year after that. i would’ve stayed longer — but my parents and i moved to australia right after that season had ended. we moved to kraków, where my moms family is from originally. it took me a bit to find a team willing to accept me — too long. so, i went a year without racing at all.

eventually i did get into a team, but only as a reserve driver? what junior karting team has reserve drivers…? so, i only had one feature race that season. luckily people from the fia saw me race and i actually got the call up directly to f3 like a year and a half after that?

laugh took them longer than i would’ve liked because in that gap, my team barely even let me train and i almost stopped racing entirely. i could tell you so much about my time in f3 and f2– but i’ll only tell you about the end of f2 to make this bearable for you. so, basically smack dab in the middle of the 2024 season my dad calls me, and he’s like super jittery all of the sudden, and he goes “izzy, they want you.” really ominiously — i genuinely thought some evil organization was gonna come and get me… but no…! it was the fia. uh, so i spent my offseason training even more. more than i usually would’ve!

and i think we all know how it goes from then on — last year i made my f1 debut with mclaren in melbourne…! i guess you could call that my home race too. ˶

﹕ ˶ my teammate, oscar, obviously… he’s, like, who im closest too as well…! but im also quite close with kimi and gabi. oh, and nico i guess, because we can speak german with each other. yeah, i think oscar is probably my best friend on the grid. ˶ ﹕

izzy has won four grand prix’ in the span of one full season on the formula one grid, these include; SILVERSTONE 2025, BUDAPEST 2025, AUSTRIA 2025 and BAKU 2025. in addition she has also won three sprint races and has achieved countless podium and pole positions.

over the course of the 2025 and still ongoing 2026 formula one season, izzy has accumulated 217 total career points. she finished the 2025 season on p7 of the drivers championship ranking, helping mclaren win the world constructors championship once more.
