The Lungbarrow estate, perched on Mount Lung overlooking the barn, a three day walk from Rassilon’s Rampart, near the border of the South Gallifrey wilderness.
This is a mock-up of how I imagine Lungbarrow’s chapterhouse and Mount Lung is situated from the barn (as seen in The Day of the Doctor, Listen and Hell Bent.)

On this day, thousands of years ago and lightyears away, a legend was born. Here’s my depiction of the Doctor’s birth from the Loom of House Lungbarrow. Happy 55th Anniversary, Dr. Who!
A momentous birth from Lungbarrow’s Loom.

Cartmel Masterplan 2: Electric Boogaloom.Â
#Looms are Canon.
Since 2015 there have been several references to the Cartmel Masterplan in BBC Books and Big Finish. There’s the mention of the Other in “Gallifrey: Intervention Earth.” There’s several references in the “Cold Fusion” adaption. The comic “Supremacy of the Cybermen featured Looms. "A Brief History of the Time Lords” also references Looms and alludes to the Other. And most recently a few days ago the new BBC book “Twelve Angels Weeping” featured a story that references the House, Looms, Otherstide and the Half-Human theory.

Numb // Linkin Park 80s Remix
this remix is basically this image:
This week is the 20th anniversary of this masterpiece (or should I say Doctorpiece?) Happy Loomday Lungbarrow. Thanks for all the shit-post material; and thank you for being the most engaging read I've ever had...
To those who don’t know about Gallifrey’s past, this is The Ancient House of Lungbarrow; ancestral home of the Time Lord, The Doctor. Grown from a seed halfway up the slope of Mount Lung, in southern Gallifrey, over looking the Cadonflood river. One of the first Houses grown during the Intuitive Revelation, a once respected Old Blood house, seat to generations of Time Lords, Lungbarrow fell into obscurity and disgrace and only produced servants and petty clerks before it’s initial death after the Doctor’s long awaited return home.Â
Looms = good, and very canon, resounding yesÂ
Marc Platt’s vilifying of asexuality =Â
Bloody hell, not this crap again. For the last bloody time, Marc Platt has /never/ vilified Asexuality. Never, weird factions of the fandom seem to think that Marc Platt’s intention, while writing Lungbarrow, was to portray Asexuals in a negative light. It’s not the Asexuality that Marc highlights as a problem, it’s the fact that Gallifreyans have become reliant on Looms, technology and tradition, leading for them to oppose change or reevaluation of social order. Lungbarrow works because it shows many of the short-comings of Gallifreyan culture, the Looms themselves aren’t the problem, it’s not the fact the most Gallifreyans are Asexual that Gallifrey’s dysfunctional, it’s the stifling culture and lack of individuality, NOT sexuality. The Doctor is shown to be Asexual, yet he’s a positive, well rounded and multi-faceted character. If Marc Platt was Acephobic he would have pushed the Doctor in a heteronormative direction. The fact the Doctor, Romana and Innocet, the three most important Gallifreyans in the story, are presented as Asexual shows that Platt had no intention of “vilifying Asexuality.” A small number of fans use the fact that the curse being lifted and Leela and Andred supposedly having a child is part of some Acephobic rhetoric. It simply isn’t, the Curse being lifted is good because it means properly new life can exist for the first time in millions of years, it means the people have the freedom to have children if they so choose, the EDAs make it very clear, especially in The Taking of Planet Five and The Shadows of Avalon, that Looms are still in use, that solidifies the idea that many Gallifreyans are Asexual and would rather not procreate through sex. Honestly, some fans look into the negative connotations of Gallifreyan culture and think it has any relevance to real human issues, such as Acephobia. I’m saying this as an AroAce person myself.
Art from Lungbarrow
The best story ever told.

DOCTOR WHO: THE NOVEL ADAPTATIONS CONTINUE!
Our weekend of Doctor Who reveals continues with the announcement of five new releases in our range of Doctor Who: Novel Adaptations.
Following our previous six releases (including the upcoming Doctor Who: The Well-Mannered War and Doctor Who: Damaged Goods), Big Finish are pleased to be continuing our audio adaptations of the Virgin Adventures Novels into 2016, starring Sylvester McCoy as the Seventh Doctor.
In December 2015, Doctor Who: Theatre of War, written and adapted by Justin Richards, sees The Seventh Doctor, Ace (Sophie Aldred) and Bernice Summerfield (Lisa Bowerman) drawn into a Shakespearian tragedy on the planet Mexaus.Â
Launching at the same time is Doctor Who: All-Consuming Fire, where a sinister intelligence lurks on the streets of 1887 London – and the Doctor’s only hope is join forces with England’s most notable consulting detective – Sherlock Holmes as played by Nicholas Briggs. The release is adapted by Guy Adams from the original novel by writer Andy Lane.
Following in April 2016, Doctor Who: Nightshade is a full cast-adaption of the classic novel by Mark Gatiss. Dark and terrifying events encompass a sleepy English town, where the Doctor and Ace’s relationship will be tested to the limit, in a script adapted by new-to-Big-Finish contributor Kyle Szikora.
Then in December 2016, we head to 30th Century Earth for the Doctor and Benny’s first encounter with Adjudicator Roz Forrester (Yasmin Bannerman) and her squire Chris Cwej (Travis Oliver) in Doctor Who: Original Sin, originally written by Andy Lane, and adapted by John Dorney.
Another release, announce at a later date, will be available in the same month. Details are under wraps at this time, but we can confirm that it will be a three disc release.
All five new release are available to pre-order now; either individually, or as part of a special discounted bundle - just £50 for all five tiles on both CD and download.
You can also pick up the six previous novel adaptations in a bundle for just £70 on CD or download - with a combined bundle of all eleven titles also available.
