i’m a big fan of Time Lords. yeah they certainly do have two hearts. yep and two brain stems. and two stomachs. and four kidneys. and another ribcage. yeah that’s orange blood you’re seeing. yeah they haven’t really breathed in 5 minutes but honest they’re fine. no they’re not cold they always feel like that. they spoke to you a little too sweetly and looked into your eyes a little too deeply and now you wanna do their bidding? don’t worry about it

Ok unironically i think Dr Who and the Gallifrey series would be way better if they more consistently remembered that Gallifreyan society as a concept was early on congealed into being based on historical Britain with some other historical Europe stuff in there, bc genuinely i think about the “it’s an old gentlemen’s club and also the Vatican” thing every goddamn day. That’s so evocative and you can do so much with that just by going back to connected ideas based on real European history. Gallifrey as regency and victorian Britain the repressive and flashy evil colonial empire. Gallifrey as church controlled medieval Europe. Time lords as deranged upper class British people. Time lords as historical European clergy. Gallifreyan society as the Enlightenment attempting to suppress and hide all its weird dark mystical medieval tendencies. It’s all there babey
