im gonna try explaining myself, cus im a gambling addict and im waiting for the day that it actually works.

"forgiveness" is personal, that's why I said in the post that you might inflict harm on people for which they can never forgive you, but that's their quest. if you abuse someone, you can't go no-contact with yourself. you actually keep living in your own head indefinitely, and ultimately you need to learn to live with yourself in order to continue living a full life without further harm. this is not necessarily an anti-carceral thought, although i am generally anti-carceral myself. I simply want people to like, fix their heart and atone for real with measured accountability & self love instead of dissociating, self-marking themselves forever and guaranteeing their recidivism.

Then, at some point in the mid 1900s, working classes got convinced that having enough money to buy their own house made them "middle class", instead those poor, uneducated, and generally lazy proletarians. Hell, my father was a house painter and my mom was a stay-at-home mom, and I didn't realize we were a working class family until I was in college.

The class barrier is not set by how much you earn. It's set by how you earn your money. Working class earns their living by ... Working. The capitalist class, the rentists, the bourgeoisie, whatever you want to call them, earn theirs from the work of others (from rents, surplus value in companies they own, etc)

Every single person who does an actual job is working class not elite. Every. Single. Person. With. A. Job. Is. Working. Class.

The meaning of middle class has changed a lot over the years. One original meaning that led to the current understanding of the term was the set of people who were things like managers or the VP of a business, where they were in control of multiple people but still had to answer to the upper class that were above them. Then it shifted more to mean things like land ownership or in some cases just the middle fifth of individuals when sorted by income level.

A lot of people are reblogging this without the addition too which frustrates me because I feel like it's really important to bring attention to the specific sort of discrimination schizophrenic people are subject to.

People will see that you're visibly mentally ill, think that you're annoying and actively look for reasons to dislike you, leading to your presence being constantly fucking monitored and judged because everyone's looking for a concrete reason to hate you. That's what this post is about. this is not a general positivity post or a statement. This is an exasperated vent from a schizophrenic person who has been pushed to his fucking brink so many times.

This doesn't just apply to schizophrenia of course- this applies to other schizospec or psychotic disorders, this applies to personality disorders (ESPECIALLY CLUSTER B.) and this spplies to DID and OSDD and other dissociative disorders. Hell this applies to any even remotely stigmatized disorder. I've seen friends with nothing up with them except for mild autism be treated like this solely because someone found them annoying.
