If you think your art blog is going to be deleted:
You can save all your posts with these instructions I’ll do it too just to be safe, I honestly don’t remember what I’ve posted here over the years.
You can also import a copy of your blog into wordpress. YMMV if you have a huge amount of posts.
Oh thanks!! This is also a good one!! In case the first doesn’t work or you don’t have the memory for a whole zip of your blog~
Free Photoshop Brushes!
Due to the popularity of my brushes/paths post lots of people messaged me asking if some of the weird brushes I use sometimes are available anywhere. They are now :D They’re all made by me, please feel free to grab them if you feel like they could be useful.
To download the file click HERE
If you feel like buying me a metaphorical coffee you can go HERE <3
If you’re not sure how to import PS brushes here’s a quick tutorial:
Click on your ‘Brushes’ settings (if you don’t have that opened in your workspace just go to Window -> Brushes) and click the top right icon on the menu
Select the ‘Import Brushes’ option from here and simply pick the downloaded file, dONE. If you’d only like one or two of the brushes just import the file and then delete the ones you’re not interested in.
Hope you enjoy! As always, if you have any more questions/requests please let me know, I’m always happy to discuss art-realted stuff :D

god I am so glad there's someone who believes in slow improvement, and, more importantly, is improving slowly themselves like....... I'm drawing for many many years and the more I see how quick people can learn to draw better, the more depressed I get because why can't I do this??? so thank you anyway also your progress is amazing and oh boy how do I love your art style. keep going sweetie
There is absolutely no shame in improving slowly! (though I too wish i was a bit quicker at improving)
I feel like its easy to look at artists that improve quickly and feel like youre just not doing enough. But probably a good majority of those people that do improve quickly do so because theyre attending an art school or taking some type of classes or something. Formal education is supposed to speed up the learning process, after all.
So if youre self taught and/or simply like learning at your own pace (like me ;D) things can get frustrating. There have been points in my life where I was pretty sure I had actually gotten worse lol. Doing comparison memes or redraws are a good way to help you see just how much youve improved ;D
cheers to all my dudes out there who arent so fast at improving at art (or anything else really) but keep on going anyways ;D
Never be bored again while working! I’ve compiled a list of tons of youtubers and some podcasts/ other bingeable media to help motivate you while you work. I hope you enjoy and share this with others!

Attention ALL artists!
You sure have seen this post. It has spread like wildfire over the past few days so I doubt there is any artist out there who hasn’t seen it. But even if you didn’t, you should read on because I’m about to tell you a handy little thing that can help you to protect your art from such assholes as the anon who submitted this bullcrap, as well as art thieves in general.
The magic word is Metadata.
Metadata is like an invisible signature that is embeded into a file. It can contain all kinds of information, like Title, date, keywords for online seach engines, and copyright information. And the best thing is, since this information is “hidden” in the code of your picture, it’s hard to remove it.
There is a nice basic tutorial on how to add Metadata, or “additional file information” to your images in photoshop. It’s really, really easy so check it out!
“Adding Your Contact And Copyright Info To Your Photos With Photoshop” on PhotoshopEssentials.com
I’m not sure if you can do the same with any other art program. If you know how to do this in other programs / can confirm that it works the same way there, please tell me so I can add the information to this post.
Adding the Metadata will not stop idiots from taking and reposting your art. It also won’t make them stop editing out your signature. It WILL however, help you prove that you are the original artist whenever you have to. Always remember my friends. You, the artist, are protected by law. No one has the right to take your intellectual property and hard work and repost, use or edit it without your permission. Ever.
art thief: well how can you prove its yours??
me: /opens metadata
I spread the word as it is important to all artist who ever suffered from art thieving or so.
You guys, metadata is super important, you guys. In an everday and legal sense. People legitimately look at and rely on metadata to know the basic, but important bits of information about a digital product (paintings, photographs, exe files, etc.), ESPECIALLY the source.
Don’t underestimate it!

Here are matching icons for you and your evil teammate !
I made a little video on ink techniques that I’ve learned this month during Inktober!
Reblog to save a life
Note from a graphic designer who has to fix this shit all day: rich black is prettier sure but for the love of the gods don’t use it for text if it’s going on newsprint. If its anything other than solid black it will bleed out and become unreadable.
Half my job is fixing this mistake all day from people who really really should know better. And now you know!
art tips post
for all the artist following me
Have two sketchbooks: One for finished and high-quality art (stuff made with Prismacolor or Copic if you use that or art for your portfolio) and the other sketchbook for more messy doodles. This way you have a place to try new things and mess up as much as you need. When I only had one sketchbook I was scared to draw in it because I didn't want to mess it up
Do studies. I cant tell you how much I've improved just by doing studies of shoes, hands, noses, and all that. This works for when you have art block too since you’re not really making stuff up and just learning how real things work.
Learn from others. I’ve never taken a real art class because 1. I can’t afford it and 2. there’s no good art classes/programs at my school. I’ve been following several artists and learning from them over the years and they’ve helped me tremendously. Just please do not steal art because that is never okay.
Break down concepts. If you notice there’s something wrong with your piece then figure out why. You can’t get better if you leave mistakes and don't try to understand whats going on. If the color is weird figure out if the values look right or maybe its the saturation of the color.
Watch youtube tutorials. Here are some youtubers I think are pretty good art teaching all things art: Draw with Jazza | DrawingWiffWaffles | Proko | Baylee Jae
Have an inspiration folder/blog. Sometimes you just need a collection of starry nights or a misty forest or even a French bakery. All of those things can help you get inspired to draw. It could even be completely unrelated to what you plan to draw.
There are no dumb ideas in the creative process. If you want to draw a lizard in a dress go for it! If you want to draw various pastries with faces do it! Don’t let the thought of it being too dumb stop you because if I’ve learned anything in my several years of drawing it’s that an idea can lead to another and another and another and you may get a really good idea just from doodling dumb things.
Here’s a few things that can get you started on drawing better:
Dynamic poses | Dynamic clothes | Dynamic figure drawing
COMPOSITION | PERSPECTIVE | CONSTRUCTION
Anatomy:
Legs
Arms
Hands
Heads
Body (Female) (Male
Color Theory
Improving your sketchbook
Most importantly, don’t give up! You may not immediately get notes or followers but it’s more important you get better than to have popularity. How do you think those popular artists got to where they are now? To be good you’ve got to work at it.
