Lucky Funeral Tour

We drove down from the mountains to the hot city of Atlanta to eat coronary bypass burgers at THE VORTEX. & then we went to SCAD's Ivy Hall, which is an opulent writing cottage with insane chandeliers at the top of a hill to read at Jamie Iredell's Potlatch Reading Series. We read alongside Atlanta writers Laura Carter & Gregg Murray, and hometown boy Ian Davisson who was guestin' from Philly. We went to a local bar afterward & accidentally sat in the middle of trivia night. Many of the questions dealt with luck and/or funerals. Our spontaneous team, FART CLUB, won a $25 gift certificate after we came in second place.

The bowlegged front goat is named John Wayne. There were three cats all named Willis. Geese are dicks.

Yesterday we got into Durham ("THE DIRTY D") and 1) jumped into foam pits at a trampoline gym 2) ate incomprehensible amounts of soul food/BBQ and 3) read at a really amazing arts space called The Shadowbox. There were random pieces of machines in the bathroom. The reading was hosted by Chris Vitiello & Lightsey Darst, local poetry heroes, and we read alongside two wonderful local poets, Shawn Wen and Dianne Timblin. Then we got a nightcap at a really cute bar called Surf Club, where our conversation was punctuated by an occasional booming sound from overhead.
