Every time Asra worries about the Apprentice, he rubs his fingertips together, and even when his hands are squeaky clean, the skin under his nails remembers the lingering, powdery feeling of fine, dust-like ashes trapped between them. And if he doesn't get confirmation that the Apprentice is fine, he has to fight the urge to scrub his fingers and hands raw.

But yeah, I’ve mentioned it before but I really appreciate how because Portia has no history with Lucio or the plague, she gets a clean slate when it comes to the conflict. Instead of the Devil again, Portia gets a unique, personalised story with Tasya and it’s so fun!
